Its white dial turns panda features into functional-looking details, from bamboo-leaf-shaped hands to chronograph buttons styled as ears. Seiko scheduled its Japanese release for 7 November 2026, so it was announced but not yet released as of 7 October.
What makes this Seiko a panda chronograph?
The watch goes beyond the familiar black-and-white “panda dial” color scheme. Seiko says the white dial’s molded radial texture evokes fur, while drooping subdials and a nose-and-mouth motif at six o’clock give it a panda-like face. The hands are shaped like bamboo leaves, the recessed chronograph buttons represent ears, and the caseback depicts a panda’s back and tail. Seiko calls the tachymeter a “SASAMETER,” a reference to sasa bamboo leaves. These design details are described in Seiko’s 6 October 2026 announcement.
The idea began as a concept for panda lovers at Seiko’s 2024 “Incredibly Specialized Watches Exhibition.” Seiko says the panda design received the strongest support among the concepts shown and was selected for production. The announcement names Kiyotaka Sakai as the designer.
HHK001P and HHK002P: the two versions
The collection pairs the white-dial HHK001P with a pink-dial sibling, HHK002P. Seiko describes the pink version as inspired by a newborn panda. The editions differ in color and production quantity; the announced Japanese suggested retail price was the same for both.

These quantities and prices are from Seiko’s 6 October 2026 Japanese announcement. They are announced edition limits and a Japanese suggested retail price, not confirmation of remaining stock or the price in other markets. Seiko’s UK product listing for the pink HHK002 showed a regional price of £510; regional pricing can differ.
Specifications and what the chronograph measures
The official listing identifies the movement as quartz Caliber 8T61. Its chronograph measures up to 60 minutes in 1/5-second increments, and the watch has a small-seconds display. Seiko estimates approximately three years of battery life on the HHK001 product page.

The 43 mm diameter and 14.6 mm thickness make this a substantial case on paper; those figures alone do not establish how it will fit a particular wrist. Seiko describes the water protection as everyday-life or splash resistance, not as a swimming or diving rating.

Seiko announced the watch on 6 October 2026 and scheduled the Japanese release for 7 November 2026. As of 7 October 2026, the scheduled date was still in the future; the announcement is not evidence that the release occurred or that a particular retailer has stock. Seiko named its boutiques and online store among Japanese sales channels. Release timing, regional prices, and availability may differ by market and can change.
