The Sinn T50 is the more compact choice on the published dimensions, with a captive safety bezel and a 500 m rating. Seiko’s Prospex Marinemaster SLA081 is larger and thicker, rated to 600 m for saturation diving, and adds a specified Caliber 8L45 with an approximately 72-hour power reserve. The better fit depends on your wrist and priorities—not on the 100 m difference alone.

Which watch is likely to fit better?
Sinn T50: smaller published dimensions
At 41 mm across and 12.3 mm thick, the T50 is substantially smaller on paper than the SLA081. Sinn lists the T50 at 53 g without a strap and gives it a 20 mm lug width. Those figures can help with fit and strap planning, but they do not establish how the watch will feel on a particular wrist. Confirm compatibility before buying an aftermarket strap.
Seiko SLA081: larger and thicker
The SLA081 measures 45.4 mm in diameter and 16.0 mm thick, according to Seiko’s March 2025 release. If case size is important, compare both watches in person where possible; dimensions alone cannot predict how either case will sit on your wrist. Seiko’s cited launch information does not state the SLA081’s weight, so a weight comparison is not established.

How do their dive-use designs differ?
Sinn’s captive safety bezel
Sinn specifies a captive safety diver’s bezel secured against accidental adjustment, with TEGIMENT treatment on the bezel. This is the clearest distinguishing feature if you prioritize the bezel’s stated security design. Sinn lists the T50 at 500 m / 50 bar and says the rating is certified by DNV.
Seiko’s one-piece titanium construction
Seiko states that “The watch features a one-piece titanium construction that ensures water resistance to depths of 600 meters, suitable for saturation diving.” The SLA081’s rating is 100 m higher on paper than the T50’s, and Seiko explicitly describes a saturation-diving use context. That difference does not by itself establish which watch is right for a particular dive or diver.

What do you get from each movement?
Seiko: a named caliber and published figures
Seiko identifies the SLA081’s movement as automatic Caliber 8L45, with an approximately 72-hour power reserve and stated accuracy of -5 to +10 seconds per day. These are the manufacturer’s published specifications, not a guarantee of an individual watch’s performance.

Sinn: caliber not established in the cited sheet
Sinn’s November 2025 product sheet describes the T50 movement as self-winding mechanical, but the exact caliber is not confidently established by that source. A direct caliber-to-caliber comparison is therefore not possible from the cited specifications.
Does the SLA081’s limited edition status change the decision?
Seiko announced the SLA081 as a 600-piece limited edition, with availability from July 2025. That makes present-day availability uncertain: check retailers for the exact reference and your market rather than assuming it remains in stock. The T50 sheet reviewed is for the standard product, not a limited edition.

How should you compare their prices?
The published figures are historical manufacturer price references, not current quotes. Sinn’s November 2025 prices vary by included strap or bracelet; Seiko’s €5,200 figure was the European recommended retail price in its March 2025 announcement. They do not establish today’s local price, street discount, seller authorization, or availability. Compare current offers for the exact model and configuration in your market before deciding whether the SLA081’s premium is worthwhile.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Sinn T50 if you prefer the smaller published case, want Sinn’s specified captive safety bezel, or favor its published price context—while checking current local pricing and configuration.
- Choose the Seiko SLA081 if you want the larger one-piece titanium saturation-diving design, the higher stated depth rating, or a named movement with published reserve and accuracy figures—and can find the limited edition at a price that works for you.
- Try both on if case size is a deciding factor. The listed diameter and thickness differ substantially, but specifications cannot replace a fit check.
