That supports describing the watch as drawing on the era’s bold case forms; it does not establish that Soldat announced a new release under the exact headline wording.
There is a potential naming mix-up: Nivada Grenchen separately calls its Racing Chronograph x Fratello a “1970s-inspired racing chronograph” on its collaborations page. That is a different brand and product, not the Soldat Red Comet.

For fit, the 50 mm lug-to-lug measurement may be as useful as the 42 mm diameter: it describes the span from one end of the lugs to the other. The listed 20 mm strap width is the lug-end width, not a guarantee that every 20 mm strap will fit; attachment and buckle dimensions also matter.
What does the NE-88 bring to the chronograph?
The NE-88 is the movement named in Soldat’s Red Comet listing. The functions Soldat specifies include two elapsed-time scales, a 30-minute counter and a 12-hour counter, alongside the date and ordinary time display. The product listing does not state a power reserve or water-resistance rating, so those specifications cannot be confirmed from that source.

How does it relate to Soldat’s earlier Promessa?
Oracle Time’s October 16, 2020 introduction of the Soldat Promessa provides useful historical context, but it concerns another model. That article identifies the Heuer 1153 as a principal design inspiration and also references the Heuer 73464 and Heuer 1163 Viceroy. It reports a 42 mm case, Seiko-made NE88 automatic column-wheel chronograph movement, 45-hour power reserve, 50 m water resistance, and colorway-specific straps for the Promessa. Those details should not be transferred to the Red Comet: its official listing does not establish the same water resistance, power reserve, or movement description.
