Sonic the Hedgehog’s “Infinite Blue” is a numbered Arita ware porcelain sculpture made for the character’s 35th anniversary—not a conventional toy. Its announced overseas list price is US$7,000 before customs duties, tax and shipping, and the worldwide edition is limited to 50. The maker says development took about eight months.
What is Sonic “Infinite Blue”?
“Infinite Blue” is a porcelain craft sculpture depicting Sonic in a flowing, dynamic pose. SEGA describes it as a one-of-a-kind porcelain craft work created for Sonic’s 35th anniversary; the production edition is 50 pieces worldwide, with each piece numbered. The announced package includes the sculpture, a base, a certificate and a wooden box.
The piece is identified as Arita ware. The manufacturer, Marukyuu Co., Ltd., connects the work to Hizen Yoshida ware’s approximately 400-year tradition, but that historical context is the maker’s description rather than an independently established history of the particular sculpture. Who made it, and what does the craft process involve?
Marukyuu credits 224porcelain with modeling and Risogama with painting and finishing. Those are distinct roles; the announcement does not say that one workshop carried out every stage. The blue is rendered using gosu, a blue pigment used in porcelain decoration, and the maker says the sculptural lines are intended to evoke speed.
The manufacturer reports approximately eight months of development. It describes a central technical challenge: long, thin, intersecting porcelain forms can be vulnerable to shrinkage, warping, cracking and breakage during firing. The team says it adjusted line thickness, curves, joints, data and molds through repeated examination and firing tests to balance the intended flowing shape with strength. These are the maker’s production account and design claims, not independent durability testing or an appraisal.

How big is it?
SEGA / Sonic Channel lists the dimensions as 15.6 × 22.8 × 21.3 cm (W × D × H). The manufacturer’s release describes the item as made to order and says fulfillment could take up to about ten months after the order period closes; check the live seller information for the current schedule.

The announced start date was October 9, 2026. The releases described two routes: five pieces allocated for first-come sales at the “SONIC the Exhibition -ACROSS GENERATIONS-” at PARCO FACTORY in Ikebukuro PARCO, and lottery applications through the YOYOYO Official Store beginning on the same date. These were announced arrangements; they do not establish that applications or pieces remain available now.

Marukyuu’s announcement listed overseas shipping to Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, EU member countries, Switzerland and Norway, with other destinations potentially discussable in advance.
