Stollenwurm’s Series 2 is a 22-design collection of watches whose dials depict the Major Arcana in hand-painted enamel. The brand says it will make five watches for each card. Its current official specifications list a platinum-and-tantalum case and an automatic micro-rotor movement; earlier independent reports give different movement, thickness and power-reserve figures. This is a reference guide, not a firsthand review.
What is Stollenwurm Series 2?
Also presented as Tarot Métiers d’Art, Series 2 uses the 22 Major Arcana as its dial subjects. Each design has an original artwork, and the dial displays the corresponding figure and card number. Stollenwurm describes the collection as an inward turn after Series 1’s celestial symbols. The brand characterizes the tarot figures as “the twenty-two figures the Tarot has used for six centuries to chart a passage through a life”; that is the company’s framing of the concept.
Artist Hannah Perry Saucier painted the figures in oil on round birch panels. Stollenwurm credits Lozeron Gravures with engraving the dials and Donzé Cadrans with enameling them.
How the enamel dials are made
The brand describes a white-gold dial decorated with Grand Feu enamel using champlevé, cloisonné, paillonné and micro-painting. In its account, the design is carved into the dial, hand-shaped gold wires separate color fields, and powdered glass is fired in layers at nearly 800°C. Fine micro-painting adds detail. Stollenwurm says each dial returns to the kiln eight times; this is the manufacturer’s description of its process, not an independently observed production account.

The repeated firings make heat control central to the brand’s explanation of the craft: “Each firing is a trial: too much heat, and the colors burn or the dial warps; too little, and the enamel dulls, never coming alive.”

Why published specifications differ
Earlier independent coverage does not match the current official page on three important points. Master Horologer’s December 2025 article and Europa Star describe the movement as WU-A1002 and give an 80-hour reserve; Master Horologer also reports an 8.65 mm case thickness. Stollenwurm’s current page instead lists WU-01-01, 72 hours and 10.10 mm. These are conflicting published specifications, not interchangeable measurements. The current brand page is the direct source for the specifications the company now presents; the available information does not explain whether the difference reflects a revision or another cause.
Edition size and reported price
Stollenwurm states that five watches will be made for each of the 22 artworks. Multiplying those figures implies a maximum of 110 watches across the designs if every design is produced to its stated limit; the brand does not separately publish that combined total.
