The Calibre TH20-00 movement
The TH20-00 is the movement that gives this generation its technical headline. TAG Heuer’s listing describes it as the brand’s in-house automatic calibre and says it is an evolution of the Heuer 02 movement, quoted directly:

The listing is the source of the figures in this section: an 80-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz). Those are manufacturer specifications. The listing does not give an accuracy rating, so no statement about timekeeping performance should be drawn from it.

Case, dial and strap
Case and fit
At 42 mm across and 14.2 mm thick, this is a substantial case, and the 22 mm lug distance sets the strap width. The case is fine-brushed and polished steel, with a fixed ceramic bezel and a sapphire-and-steel caseback. These are dimensions from the manufacturer; they do not describe how the watch sits on any particular wrist, and this article makes no claim about comfort.

Dial and hands
The dial is circular-brushed blue with three silver azuré counters. TAG Heuer states that the hands are treated with Super-LumiNova. The listing does not give a luminous performance duration.
Strap and buckle
The strap is brown perforated calfskin leather, closed with a folding steel pin buckle that has double safety push buttons. Because the lug distance is 22 mm, a replacement strap needs to match that dimension, but a width match alone does not confirm that a third-party strap will attach securely or sit correctly. Verify attachment before buying one.

What the new generation changed
A September 2026 report from Time and Watches describes a redesigned 42 mm case for the Carrera Chronograph Sport, five initial configurations, the TH20-00 movement with an 80-hour reserve, and a reveal linked to the 2026 Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid. The report is the source for those launch-level points: Time and Watches, 7 September 2026.
The official listing confirms the dimensions and specifications of CDB2111.FC8378. It does not, however, document a comparison with the previous model, and it does not list all five configurations. Any claim that this generation is smaller, lighter or otherwise changed from the prior model should therefore be attributed to the secondary report rather than to TAG Heuer.
Price and where to check it
The official Luxembourg listing shows €6,350 for this reference. TAG Heuer’s regional sites are separate storefronts, and another official regional site shows a price in a different local currency, so the figure above applies to Luxembourg only. Confirm the price, stock status and authorized sellers in your own market before you commit, because these are the details most likely to change.

What the specifications do and do not establish
The 100 m water resistance is a manufacturer rating. It indicates the depth the watch is rated to, not that it suits every water activity, and this article cites no independent water test of this model. Likewise, the 80-hour reserve and 4 Hz frequency describe the movement’s design, not its measured accuracy or long-term reliability.
