It pairs a black-coated titanium Connected Modular 45 with pink-gold-colored lugs, Kingsman branding and a distinctive orange velvet strap. It is now a discontinued collector’s piece, not a current TAG Heuer smartwatch; its film connection and design are more compelling today than its aging electronics.
What is the Kingsman Special Edition?
Usually called the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Kingsman Special Edition, this was a special version of TAG Heuer’s 2017 Connected Modular 45 platform. It is a smartwatch, not a mechanical watch. TAG Heuer described its Connected watch as the official watch of the Kingsman agents, in a partnership involving MARV Films, 20th Century Fox and MR PORTER. Director Matthew Vaughn selected the Connected platform for the film, explaining that it suited an agent who needed an elegant watch with a technological role in the story. “Modular” refers to the broader system: compatible straps and lugs could be changed, and TAG Heuer’s concept also allowed a mechanical watch module to use supporting components from the system. How it looks and what makes it distinctive
Case and hardware
The 45 mm case is black-coated titanium, with pink-gold-colored lugs. Published regional descriptions list a sapphire crystal, 50 m water resistance, a microphone, a proximity sensor and a titanium folding clasp. Straps and branding
The watch was presented with a Kingsman-marked leather strap and an additional orange velvet strap inspired by Eggsy’s orange velvet smoking jacket. The extra strap is a design reference, not a guarantee that every surviving watch still includes it. On a used example, confirm exactly which straps, lugs and clasp are included rather than relying on stock photographs or the seller’s title. The display and watch also carry Kingsman branding. Special display behavior
Launch coverage described Kingsman marks around 3 and 9 o’clock and a programmed event at 10:10: a ten-second vibration accompanied by a gold “K” appearing across the dial. The film-related display behavior replaced the standard Android Wear lighting function. Launch sources do not establish a dependable battery-capacity figure, processor, memory, screen resolution, launch production quantity or a universal reference number. Those details should not be inferred from the model name.

Film partnership, on-screen watch and retail edition
The film partnership, the watch represented on screen and the consumer product are related but not interchangeable facts. The Connected platform was selected for the film’s technological premise, and TAG Heuer marketed it as the Kingsman agents’ official watch. The retail Kingsman Special Edition was a branded product made available to buyers; that does not establish that every close-up, prop or configuration seen in the movie exactly matches the retail set. A seller’s claim that a watch is “the one from the film” needs evidence beyond its appearance or edition name.
Launch, price and availability
2017 launch
The edition was unveiled in London in 2017 by TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver, Matthew Vaughn and MR PORTER managing director Toby Bateman. MR PORTER was the exclusive UK stockist for the first month, with its online launch beginning July 6, 2017. Historical price reference
A Taiwan launch article listed a recommended price of NT$123,000 in September 2017. That is a local historical reference, not a universal launch price. A later MR PORTER corporate release gave price ranges for its wider TAG Heuer assortment, not a confirmed price for this Kingsman model, so those ranges should not be treated as its MSRP. Where to find one now
As of August 16, 2026, the Kingsman edition is a discontinued historical model, and no current official TAG Heuer product listing for it is established by the available product sources. A pre-owned example is the realistic route; new old stock may surface, but its availability cannot be assumed. What to check before buying a used example
Authenticity and completeness
Do not identify an edition from a seller’s description or an orange strap alone. A standard Connected Modular 45 fitted with an aftermarket strap is not automatically a Kingsman model. Ask for clear, current photos of the case, caseback, lugs, clasp, display, charger, packaging and every included strap. Check that the 45 mm Connected Modular case architecture, black-coated titanium and pink-gold-colored lugs match the claimed edition, and request serial or reference documentation and purchase papers where available. Kingsman branding on the strap, display or caseback and the original orange velvet strap can help assess the set, but missing accessories by themselves do not prove a counterfeit.
Prioritize the watch module, working charger and cable, both original straps, correct lugs and clasp, and any box, papers or purchase documentation. The orange strap is a particularly clear physical differentiator, but a complete-looking box is not a substitute for verifying the watch itself.
Function and condition
- Confirm that it powers on, charges reliably and holds charge for a reasonable period; a degraded battery can be hidden by an attractive case.
- Test touchscreen response across the full display and inspect for burn-in, dead pixels or severe discoloration.
- Check that the charger makes consistent contact and ask whether the cable and power source are included.
- Test Bluetooth or Wi-Fi pairing with the phone you intend to use, and verify setup can be completed without relying on an unavailable app or account flow.
- Try the crown or buttons and microphone, and inspect the black coating for heavy wear.
- Ask TAG Heuer support in your country whether the model is still accepted for service and whether battery, module, charger or strap work is available before committing to a purchase.
- Do not treat the original 50 m rating as evidence that a years-old watch remains water-safe. Water resistance can change with age, wear and service history; obtain a current professional test before exposing it to water.
Software expectations
This is an older smartwatch generation. Current Wear OS features, app compatibility, security updates and access to modern services are not established for it. Treat successful setup and pairing with your own phone as a purchase condition, not an assumption based on the watch powering on. For official service inquiries, use TAG Heuer customer care.

There is no substantiated current 2026 market value in the cited sources, so compare condition, completeness, serviceability, seller protections and verified sales rather than treating an asking price as a market benchmark. The watch’s strongest case is as a distinctive film-linked collector piece; its weakest is as a practical substitute for a modern smartwatch.
