Zenith announced the Defy Skyline on January 24, 2022, as a contemporary take on design elements from its 1969 DEFY A3642. For the original silver-dial, 41mm steel reference, 03.9300.3620/01.1001, Zenith listed an automatic El Primero 3620, a running 1/10-second counter and a launch price of CHF 8,400. Those specifications and price apply to that reference—not every watch in the broader Skyline collection.
What did Zenith launch in January 2022?
Zenith announced the Defy Skyline on January 24, 2022. The launch introduced a new collection rather than a single configuration; the detailed specification sheet discussed here is for the silver-dial 41mm steel model, reference 03.9300.3620/01.1001.
Zenith described the collection as a contemporary reinterpretation of elements from its 1969 DEFY A3642. That is the maker’s stated design lineage, not a claim that the Skyline is a reissue or shares the earlier watch’s construction. The launch release also described a metallic sunburst dial with an aligned pattern of engraved four-pointed stars, a motif Zenith said reimagines its 1960s “double Z” logo. Zenith’s January 24, 2022 launch announcement used the collection’s own guiding language: “The DEFY Skyline is dedicated to those who follow their light and forge their own path on their journey towards their star.”

How does the 1/10-second counter work?
The display at 9 o’clock is a running 1/10-second counter, according to Zenith’s technical sheet. It is not a conventional chronograph register: the listed functions do not describe it as a stopwatch counter, and the sheet lists central hours and minutes alongside the indicator and date.
How much did the 2022 Defy Skyline cost at launch?
Zenith’s January 2022 technical sheet listed the silver-dial steel reference 03.9300.3620/01.1001 at CHF 8,400. This is the historical launch price for that configuration, not a current retail quote or a US-dollar price. The Zenith pressroom is the source for the original launch materials; a current price or resale value requires a dated listing for the relevant market and exact reference.

No. “Defy Skyline” names a collection that includes more than the original silver-dial steel configuration. Case material and size, dial and displays, movement, supplied straps and price should be checked against the exact reference rather than inferred from this model’s sheet. Zenith’s current US catalogue confirms the family’s continued catalogue presence, but current configurations, prices and availability can vary by market.
