These picks span transparent sapphire cases, a diamond-set titanium Spirit, and a black-dial Big Bang in Magic Gold. “Come out of the cupboard” is unclear as a description of the watches, so this guide treats it as a call to bring notable models into view rather than implying they are hidden or discontinued.
How to read this shortlist
“Best” here means a selection of distinct Hublot skeleton-watch options, not a laboratory ranking or a report of hands-on testing. A skeleton dial exposes movement components; a sapphire case adds transparency around the sides as well. They are related visual choices, but not the same feature. Specifications below come from Hublot’s own product pages and release, so they establish what the manufacturer lists—not comfort, reliability, finishing quality, or resale value.
Hublot’s live U.S. Spirit of Big Bang catalogue listed 49 watches when accessed in 2026, including sapphire, titanium, ceramic, King Gold, Meca-10, and tourbillon variants. That count is a changing catalogue snapshot, not a fixed collection size. The catalogue includes more possible candidates, but not enough captured model-specific detail to compare eight distinct skeleton watches fairly. See Hublot’s U.S. Spirit of Big Bang catalogue.

Big Bang Unico Sapphire 42 mm: the clearest all-around view
The 42 mm Unico Sapphire makes transparency the main event: light passes through its polished sapphire case as well as the transparent composite-resin skeleton dial. Hublot lists reference 441.JX.4802.RT with its HUB1280 UNICO flyback chronograph, an approximately 72-hour reserve, and 50 m / 5 ATM water resistance. The manufacturer’s U.S. suggested retail price was USD 79,000 excluding VAT on its U.S. page at research time; that is not a transaction or resale estimate. #1 Best Overall
Big Bang Unico Water Blue Sapphire 44 mm: a limited, vivid variant
This 44 mm Big Bang pairs a water-blue sapphire case with an open skeleton dial. Hublot’s release says its UNICO movement has 354 components and a 72-hour power reserve, and that the watch is limited to 50 pieces. The cited page specifies 50 m / 5 ATM resistance and says sales are through Hublot boutiques and authorized retailers. Its captured text shows “April 1” without a year, so that date cannot establish a release year. A limited edition size also does not establish current stock. Read Hublot’s Water Blue Sapphire release.
Spirit of Big Bang Sapphire Blue 42 mm: shaped sapphire with a skeleton chronograph
The Sapphire Blue brings the Spirit’s shaped case profile to blue sapphire, with a fully skeletonized HUB4700 chronograph movement. Hublot says the movement uses a silicon regulating element. The captured official model information does not establish a complete set of specifications, so water resistance, reserve, edition quantity, and price are not included here. View Hublot’s Spirit of Big Bang Sapphire Blue page.
Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Pavé 42 mm: the jewelry-forward choice
Reference 642.NX.0170.RX.1704 combines a diamond-set titanium case and bezel with a sapphire dial. Hublot lists a HUB4700 self-winding skeleton chronograph and 50-hour power reserve. Its appeal is the combination of exposed mechanics and gem-setting; the available specifications do not establish it as a value-oriented alternative. View Hublot’s Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Pavé page.
Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold 44 mm: black dial and a stated 200-piece run
The Full Magic Gold contrasts a matte black skeleton dial with a 44 mm case made from Hublot’s proprietary 18K Magic Gold alloy. Hublot lists the HUB1280 movement, 100 m / 10 ATM water resistance, and a limited edition of 200. Hublot describes Magic Gold as scratch-resistant; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independent comparative test. View Hublot’s Big Bang Unico Full Magic Gold page.
Rank #3
Which one fits your priorities?
- For maximum see-through effect: start with the Unico Sapphire 42 mm, which has both a sapphire case and a transparent skeleton dial.
- For a blue statement: compare the Water Blue Sapphire’s 44 mm Big Bang format with the shaped 42 mm Spirit Sapphire Blue. The Water Blue has a stated 50-piece limit and published resistance figure; the captured Sapphire Blue page leaves several specifications unstated.
- For a more jewelry-led look: the Titanium Pavé puts diamond-setting alongside the HUB4700 skeleton chronograph.
- For a darker, less transparent case presentation: the Full Magic Gold keeps the movement visible through a black skeleton dial, rather than through a sapphire case.
What to verify before buying
Regional Hublot pages can differ in currency, tax treatment, availability, and displayed prices. Check the page for the exact reference and your region, and confirm stock and current terms directly with Hublot or an authorized retailer. A catalogue listing is not proof that a particular watch is available. For the Water Blue Sapphire, Hublot identifies its boutiques and authorized retailers as sales channels. The USD 79,000 figure above is specifically a manufacturer-listed U.S. suggested retail price excluding VAT, not a quote for another market.
These five models are the strongest defensible selection from the available model-specific details. Other watches in Hublot’s Spirit catalogue—including Impact Sapphire, ceramic, titanium and King Gold chronographs, Meca-10 models, and tourbillons—may also merit consideration, but their individual dial construction and specifications need confirmation before they can be compared as skeleton watches.
