Casio says its tide graph and moon displays use entered date, time, and location information. That distinction is the practical lesson this model invites: a useful display is only as meaningful as the inputs behind it.
I can’t claim a personal lesson or first-hand experience without an account from the wearer. What can be established from Casio’s specifications is how the watch is intended to work—and what to check when its tide or moon information looks wrong.
What the GLX-5600RT is designed to do
Casio identifies the GLX-5600RT-9 as an older model in the G-LIDE GLX-5600 series. The G-LIDE line is aimed at surfers and extreme-sports fans; the GLX-5600 design adds a tide graph to the DW-5600 base. Casio describes that graph as showing tide level for a specified date and time, alongside moon age and a moon-phase graph. Casio’s GLX-5600RT-9 product page
That makes the watch a compact reference for tide and lunar information, rather than a promise that its graph will automatically represent every beach or current moment. The displayed data is tied to the watch’s settings, so a mismatch between the selected location, date, or time and the situation you care about can make the information seem wrong.

Why the tide or moon display may not match what you expect
Casio’s Operation Guide 5605 says the moon and tide display concerns the watch’s Home Site, and advises checking the time, date, and Home Site when the displayed information appears incorrect. It describes selecting a date to view tide information at a time and moon information for that date. Casio Operation Guide 5605

That guide’s module applicability to the GLX-5600RT has not been confirmed here. For button-by-button setup, use the user guide linked from Casio’s GLX-5600RT-9 support page and confirm it matches your watch. Do not rely on the 5605 guide alone for model-specific instructions.
- Check that the displayed time and date are correct.
- Check the Home Site or location setting against the place whose tide information you want to view.
- Confirm the date and time selected for the tide display, rather than assuming the graph refers to an unspecified current moment.
A tide graph on a wristwatch should not be treated as a substitute for official local tide tables or safety guidance. The manufacturer documentation describes display functions, not a guarantee that the watch is an authoritative or safety-critical source for local conditions.
