The Laventure Marine II Steel/Gold has a dial made with a brushed solid 18K gold upper plate—not merely gold-colored paint or plating. That plate sits above a luminous lower plate, making the watch’s defining feature a genuine sandwich construction. Laventure lists the 2021 limited edition as sold out.
What makes the Marine II’s dial solid gold?
Laventure specifies the upper dial plate as brushed 18K Au750 3N gold. In a sandwich dial, the upper plate sits above a lower plate; here, the lower layer carries Swiss Super-LumiNova for legibility. The gold surface is therefore a structural dial component, not just a finish applied to another material.
The maker says the plate carries laser-engraved official hallmarks: “Au750,” a Saint Bernard symbol associated with Swiss provenance, and Laventure’s maker’s mark. In his June 21, 2021 launch review, Rob Nudds of Fratello described the top layer as vertically grained, with two-color pad-printed markings; he identified the octopus as Laventure’s mark.
What is the Laventure Marine II?
The Steel/Gold is an automatic stainless-steel diver-style watch from Laventure’s Marine II collection. Its case is 316L stainless steel with polished and brushed surfaces, paired with an integrated 316L bracelet in polished and satin finishes. The maker states water resistance of 200 m / 660 ft.

Why use a Plexiglas crystal?
Laventure says the Plexiglas Superdome is lighter and reflects less than alternatives, and that scratches can be repolished. Those are the manufacturer’s claims, not results from an independent comparison. A suitable acrylic-crystal polish may address surface scratches; follow the product’s directions and confirm compatibility rather than assuming every polish is appropriate.

How limited was the 2021 release, and can you still buy one?
Laventure says the Marine II collection was limited to 99 pieces and currently marks the Steel/Gold sold out. Its product page also says sold-out Laventure watches will not be reproduced. That establishes the maker’s stated production limit and current listing status, not the number of examples available through resellers.
Fratello reported a launch retail price of CHF 3,850 before taxes in its June 21, 2021 article. This is a dated launch report, not a current asking price or resale valuation, and it does not establish the original price in every market. Secondary-market listings can change quickly; a single dealer listing cannot establish typical value or current supply.

What changed from the first Marine?
Fratello’s launch review described the Marine II as an update to the first Marine, citing changes to the movement, dial, crystal, hands, bracelet, and case back. Reviewer Rob Nudds offered his personal assessment: “I believe the Marine II to be a much more accomplished watch than the original…” That is one reviewer’s opinion, not a measured side-by-side test.
