The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Celebration is a lacquered dial design built around a turquoise field and black-edged bubbles in four contrasting colours. Rolex introduced the motif in 2023 for 31 mm, 36 mm and 41 mm Oyster Perpetual watches; the official 41 mm brochure documents it on reference 124300. Rolex’s available current collection pages do not confirm whether the Celebration dial is still in production or available to order.

What makes the Celebration dial distinctive?

Rolex’s 2023 release describes a lacquered dial dotted with multicoloured bubbles, bringing together five hues introduced to the Oyster Perpetual range in 2020. The brand calls it the “Celebration motif” in its brochure. Its playful pattern stands apart from a conventional solid-colour dial without changing the watch’s identity as an Oyster Perpetual.

The Oyster Perpetual 31 brochure describes the design as a turquoise blue background with differently sized bubbles edged in black. The bubbles are candy pink, yellow, coral red and green. Together, the four bubble colours and the turquoise background make up the five-hue palette.

How Rolex describes making the dial

Rolex says the decoration is carried out under tightly controlled conditions, with precision required throughout. In its 2023 release, the brand puts it this way: “The dial decoration is carried out in strictly controlled conditions and requires the utmost precision at every stage to create a marvel of colour.” The release does not provide a step-by-step account of the manufacturing process.

Launch sizes and the documented 41 mm reference

At launch in 2023, Rolex offered the Celebration motif across three Oyster Perpetual case sizes. The 41 mm specifications below are for the specific reference shown in Rolex’s brochure, not a universal specification list for all three sizes.

Detail Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41, reference 124300-0008
Case 41 mm Oystersteel, with a domed bezel
Water resistance 100 m (330 ft)
Movement Calibre 3230, self-winding mechanical movement with a Perpetual rotor
Power reserve Approximately 70 hours
Certification Superlative Chronometer; COSC certification followed by Rolex certification after casing
Bracelet Oystersteel Oyster bracelet with Oysterclasp and Easylink comfort extension
Dial Turquoise blue Celebration motif with Chromalight display

These reference-specific details come from Rolex’s Oyster Perpetual 41 brochure; they should not be assumed to apply unchanged to the 31 mm and 36 mm versions.

Is the Celebration dial still available?

The available Rolex current collection pages show later Oyster Perpetual configurations, including the 41 mm reference 134300 and a Jubilee motif, but they do not explicitly state whether the Celebration dial has been discontinued, remains in production or can still be ordered. The distinction matters: the Celebration brochure’s 41 mm watch is reference 124300, while the current 41 mm product page identifies reference 134300. The sources do not establish a direct availability comparison between them.

For a pre-owned or auction route, Sotheby’s has documented a listing for an Oyster Perpetual “Celebration Bubbles,” reference 124300, described as a stainless-steel watch with bracelet and balloon dial, circa 2023. That listing establishes a secondary-market example, not current stock, a price, or the condition or provenance of other watches. Anyone considering a specific example should verify its reference, condition and documentation with the seller or auction house.

Choosing a size

Rolex introduced the dial in 31 mm, 36 mm and 41 mm cases. Case diameter alone cannot establish how a watch will sit on an individual wrist, and the cited sources do not provide comparative wrist-fit measurements or current availability by size.

  • 31 mm: The smallest of the three launch sizes; Rolex’s 31 mm brochure describes the motif’s colours and bubble design.
  • 36 mm: The middle launch size. The cited materials do not establish its current availability or provide a specific Celebration reference specification.
  • 41 mm: The largest launch size; the documented Celebration version is reference 124300-0008, with the specifications listed above.

If choosing among sizes, try the watch on where possible and ask a retailer about the exact reference and configuration being offered. The documented launch range does not itself establish which sizes are currently obtainable.
