What is the Time+Tide x Dennison DateNight?
The DateNight is a collaboration between Australian watch retailer and publisher Time+Tide and Dennison, the revived watch brand. Time+Tide describes it as its first dress watch. Dennison says it is the brand’s first mother-of-pearl dial and first use of marquetry. The reference is ALD-S-ST09.
The collaboration’s defining feature is its dial: rectangular filaments of Australian mother-of-pearl are hand-inlaid in an irregular arrangement. The pieces catch and reflect light differently, giving the surface variation rather than the uniform look of a conventional printed dial. Time+Tide’s 20 August 2025 launch article credits designer Emmanuel Gueit and describes his work with Dennison’s in-house designer. Time+Tide’s launch article and Dennison’s product page provide the brands’ descriptions of the design.
Dennison founder Toby Sutton described the project as taking the brand’s heritage in a fresh direction while exploring new materials and techniques. That is the collaboration’s stated design intent, rather than an independent assessment of the watch.

The measurements are not presented identically across the listing: Time+Tide’s product detail gives 37 × 33.5 mm, while another specification block labels the case size 34.0 mm. Its launch article gives 33.65 mm width × 37 mm length-to-lug and 6.05 mm thickness. If exact fit is important, compare the case and lug-to-lug measurements on the seller’s current listing rather than treating those differently formatted figures as interchangeable.
The launch article’s movement detail is more specific than the brief “Swiss-made Ronda quartz” description on the product listing. The approximately six-year power reserve is the launch article’s stated figure, not a result of independent testing.

What does the DateNight cost?
Time+Tide’s U.S. product listing showed a standard price of US$995 when checked for this article. The Australian listing showed A$1,450 and “Out of stock” on 8 October 2026. The official listed regional prices are shown below; they are seller-listed amounts, not a guarantee of current stock or checkout totals.

How the launch and availability worked
Time+Tide announced a 24-hour global online order window beginning 27 August 2025 at 14:00 CET. Its launch article said the first 200 orders would ship in 7–14 days and remaining orders would arrive in early November 2025; after the online window, sales were planned through Time+Tide Discovery Studios. These were the announced launch arrangements, not a statement of present inventory. The Australian listing’s out-of-stock status on 8 October 2026 does not establish availability in other regions. Will a 20 mm watch strap fit?
The stated lug width is 20 mm, so a 20 mm strap is the nominal size to consider. The watch is listed with slate-grey Molequin suede, with white leather as an optional strap configuration. A generic strap in the same width may be a compatible-size accessory, but width alone does not confirm attachment compatibility or how the strap sits on the case. Confirm the attachment style and fit with the seller or strap maker before buying.

Who is the DateNight for?
The DateNight is best understood as a design-led dress watch: its appeal rests on the distinctive mother-of-pearl marquetry, rectangular stainless-steel case and notably slim profile, rather than a broad set of functions. It offers hours and minutes with quartz timekeeping and 30 m water resistance. Those details make it a focused choice for someone who wants a thin, formal-leaning watch; they do not make it a substitute for a watch intended for swimming or sports.
When comparing it with another watch, the useful points are the actual case dimensions, thickness, dial material and construction, movement functions, water resistance, included strap and current local price. No independent wear test or comparative performance assessment is established here.
