Which Timex Expedition Solar is this?
TW2V03600 is the blue-dial, brown Ecco DriTan leather-strap configuration listed on Timex’s EU product page as the Expedition Field Post Solar. It is sometimes searched for as the “Expedition North Field Post Solar 41mm,” but the reference number is the clearest way to distinguish it from similar watches.
Check the reference, dial and strap before buying: Timex also lists a green-dial solar model with a green recycled-fabric slip-through strap (TW2V03700) and a black-dial model with a brown eco-friendly leather strap (TW2V64100). These are separate configurations, not alternate descriptions of TW2V03600.

Solar power and the four-month claim
Solar charging removes the need for routine battery changes, which can be convenient if the watch is worn regularly where it receives light. Timex describes the movement as lasting up to four months and says the solar system eliminates battery changes. “Up to” is the manufacturer’s stated maximum; the product page does not give independent runtime testing conditions, so it should not be read as a guaranteed interval for every wearer or storage situation.
Think about how the watch will be used: frequent wear and exposure to light are different from keeping it in a dark drawer for long periods. The available product details do not specify a charging rate or the light exposure needed to reach the stated duration.

Size, dial and strap for everyday wear
Case dimensions
At 41 mm across and 12 mm high, the case is a substantial everyday-watch size for some wrists and may feel large or sit prominently on others. The listed 70.98 g weight offers a reference point, but dimensions alone cannot establish how it will fit or feel on your wrist. If fit is important, compare the diameter and height with a watch you already wear comfortably.
Dial and nighttime visibility
The blue dial uses full Arabic markings, a straightforward layout for readers who prefer prominent numerals. Timex lists luminescent hands and dial markings, but does not publish a brightness or duration measurement. The listing therefore does not establish how easily the watch can be read in darkness or how long its glow lasts.

Leather strap and replacements
The brown Ecco DriTan leather strap gives this version a different feel and appearance from the fabric-strap variants. Its listed width is 20 mm. That width can help when searching for a replacement, but it does not by itself confirm that a particular aftermarket strap will fit: check the watch’s attachment arrangement and the replacement’s compatibility before ordering.

Timex describes the anti-reflective sapphire crystal as highly scratch resistant. Sapphire is not indestructible, and Timex notes it may shatter under heavy impact; scratch resistance should not be confused with impact-proof construction.

The watch is rated to 100 m. Timex describes swimming, snorkeling, poolside diving and surfing as suitable uses, while saying scuba diving is unsuitable. Treat those activity limits as the manufacturer’s guidance, not as independent proof of performance in water. Who should consider the TW2V03600?
This configuration is worth considering if you want an analog solar field watch with a blue, numeral-rich dial, a leather strap and the manufacturer-listed sapphire crystal and 100 m rating.
