What is the Timex x Todd Snyder Beekman?
Timex announced the Beekman collaboration on August 17, 2018. The company says its design draws on a 1960s Timex racing-inspired watch. Todd Snyder visited Timex headquarters and reviewed the vintage archive; Timex says the tachymeter complication helped inspire the dial design. Timex’s launch announcement is the source for the product history and specifications below.
The idea is vintage racing-watch styling in a modern collaboration, rather than a documented reissue of the original watch. Timex’s announcement describes the inspiration, but does not establish that the Beekman reproduces a particular archival model in every detail.

How the tachymeter works
Timex’s example uses a known one-mile distance: start the timer when a moving object passes the starting point, stop it when the object reaches the end of that mile, then read the speed from the tachymeter markings. This is Timex’s explanation of the complication, not an independent test of the Beekman dial’s accuracy or legibility. The launch announcement names telemeter markings as well, but does not give a corresponding use explanation.
