It is a watch family, not one unchanging specification: confirm the exact reference, dial, bracelet or strap, fit and regional price before buying.
What is the Tudor Black Bay Chronograph?
The Black Bay Chronograph combines the Black Bay design language with a mechanical chronograph and a tachymetric bezel. “Heritage” is often used in the model’s name, but it does not identify a separate current reference number. Tudor’s product sheet for reference 79360N documents the established 41 mm steel configuration; exact details can vary across later references and regional offerings.
The official Tudor 79360N product sheet lists a 316L stainless-steel case, a fixed steel bezel with a matt black anodized aluminium tachymeter disc, and a domed sapphire crystal. The case has polished and satin finishes. The screw-down crown and pushers are part of the watch’s practical character as well as its water-resistant construction.

Dimensions and options in the table are tied to the named sources and their dates. They should not be treated as a specification for every later Black Bay Chronograph reference.

Dial and bracelet options: compare the exact reference
The model has been offered in panda and reverse-panda layouts. A panda dial pairs an opaline or light face with dark counters; a reverse panda uses a black face with lighter counters. Tudor’s 79360N sheet lists those black and opaline dial choices. Later variants and configurations may differ in details such as bezel finish and bracelet design.
The original 79360N sheet lists a riveted steel bracelet, a leather strap with removable bund, and a fabric strap. A later secondary guide discusses three-link and five-link bracelet configurations, but availability can vary by reference and market. Check Tudor’s catalogue or ask an authorized dealer to confirm what is supplied with the particular watch you are considering. Do not assume an alternative strap or bracelet is included.

Movement and chronograph operation
Tudor identifies the automatic MT5813 chronograph movement and COSC certification on its product sheet. Fratello’s 2021 review describes a 70-hour power reserve, silicon balance spring, column wheel and vertical clutch, and says the movement is based on Breitling’s B01 architecture. Those construction details are the reviewer’s account rather than claims made in the cited Tudor sheet.
The chronograph has an important usability quirk: the pushers screw down, so they must be unscrewed before you can operate the stopwatch function. Screw them back down as directed by Tudor after use. The watch’s 200 m rating is a manufacturer-published water-resistance figure, not a reason to assume the chronograph should be operated underwater. Follow the instructions in the manual for the exact reference, especially before exposing the watch to water.

How it may fit on your wrist
At 41 mm across, the case is only part of the fit picture. Fratello’s 2021 measurements for the M79360N—14.4 mm thick and 49.9 mm from lug to lug—are useful context for a watch that has substantial height and length on the wrist. Wrist shape, strap or bracelet, and personal preference all affect comfort and how large it wears. Try the exact configuration on if possible, and check that the case sits securely without the lugs extending uncomfortably beyond your wrist.

Prices vary by country, dealer and configuration. The Watchology’s guide updated September 29, 2026, reports approximate US retail figures of $6,875 for some steel models and $7,150 for a polished-bezel steel variant. These are that guide’s dated, market-dependent figures, not a universal or guaranteed current Tudor price. For comparison only, Fratello reported 2021 US launch-era prices of $5,225 on the steel bracelet and $4,900 on fabric or leather; those historical figures should not be read as current prices.

For a new watch, check with a Tudor boutique or authorized dealer in your market for current stock, the precise reference and configuration, local price, and applicable guarantee terms. Tudor’s 2025 Black Bay Chrono Carbon press material states, “Five-year transferable guarantee without registration or mandatory maintenance checks.” That statement is from Carbon-specific press material; confirm whether the terms apply to the reference and region you are buying in.
