What does LHD mean on the Tudor Pelagos?
Tudor says LHD stands for “Left Hand Drive.” Its winding crown and stem sit on the left side of the case, at 9 o’clock, so the watch can be worn on the right wrist by a left-handed wearer. That layout is the defining practical difference from the conventional crown-at-3-o’clock arrangement. It may also suit someone who simply prefers a left-side crown, but it does not make the watch exclusively for left-handed people.
Tudor frames the model as part of its history of watches for left-handed professional divers, including bespoke watches commissioned by the French Navy in the 1970s. Case, bezel and dial
Tudor specifies a 42 mm satin-finished titanium-and-steel case, 14.3 mm thick, with a 22 mm lug width and a numbered steel case back. The black dial has beige luminous markings and a red PELAGOS name at 6 o’clock. A date window sits at 3; Tudor’s description notes that even dates are red and odd dates black. The crystal is sapphire.

The automatic Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5612-LHD has a bidirectional rotor, COSC certification and an approximately 70-hour power reserve according to Tudor. The crown screws down at 9 o’clock; the helium escape valve is at 3. Tudor lists water resistance of 500 m / 1,640 ft. These specifications describe the watch, not a universal recommendation for every kind of diving: suitability depends on the activity, equipment, training and applicable procedures. Bracelet, strap and guarantee
The supplied titanium bracelet has a folding clasp, steel safety catch and Tudor extension system. Tudor’s product page also lists a black rubber strap, buckle and extra extension piece as complimentary. The stated 22 mm lug width is useful when checking strap dimensions, but width alone does not establish that a particular third-party strap or end fitting will fit.

Who should consider it?
- Consider it if you want a left-side crown for right-wrist wear, a 42 mm titanium-and-steel case and a date display with restrained red and beige accents.
- Compare other Pelagos models if case size or stated depth rating matters more than crown orientation: Tudor lists the Pelagos 39 at 39 mm and the Ultra at 43 mm with 1,000 m water resistance.
- Try the fit in person if case dimensions and bracelet fit are decisive; the published measurements cannot tell you how the watch will sit on your wrist.
