The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Ultra-thin ref. 2000V paired a 40 mm 18K white-gold case with the 2.45 mm self-winding Calibre 1120 when it debuted at SIHH in 2016. Its slim profile, time-and-minute display and launch-era price make it a distinctive chapter in the Overseas line; the historical sources do not establish its current production status or present-day price.
What the Overseas 2000V was at its 2016 debut
Vacheron Constantin introduced the Overseas Ultra-thin ref. 2000V at SIHH 2016. The brand’s historical account places the model in the Overseas collection, launched in 1996 and presented as a descendant of the 222. The 2000V was the line’s ultra-thin expression: a restrained grey-dial watch in 18K white gold, showing hours and minutes. Contemporary SIHH coverage appeared on 20 January 2016 and 29 January 2016.
Vacheron Constantin’s official historical description says, “The Overseas Ultra-thin watch has a subdued appearance at first glance.” The understatement sits alongside a technically unusual pairing: a relatively broad 40 mm case and an exceptionally thin automatic movement with a full oscillating rotor.

Why a 2.45 mm automatic movement matters in a 40 mm watch
A thin case is not achieved simply by making the dial or caseback shallow. The movement, hands, crystal and case construction all occupy height, and an automatic watch must also accommodate its winding system and rotor. Calibre 1120 was reported at just 2.45 mm thick while retaining a self-winding architecture and full oscillating weight. That helps explain how the 2000V could combine a 40 mm diameter with a reported 7.5 mm case thickness.

#1 Best Overall
The distinction between the movement’s thickness and the case’s thickness matters: 2.45 mm describes Calibre 1120, while 7.5 mm describes the assembled watch case. The former is an independently reported specification, not a new measurement of the watch. Contemporary coverage also noted a 22K gold rotor visible through the display back.
Calibre 1120 and its historical lineage
Calibre 1120 is Vacheron Constantin’s designation for the movement used in the 2000V. In its 2016 reporting, Hodinkee discussed the calibre’s historical relationship to the JLC 920 and the movement’s manufacture. That account should be read as historical reporting about this calibre, rather than as a present-day statement by Vacheron Constantin about its manufacturing arrangements.

- Round watch featuring corrugated unidirectional bezel, luminous hands/markers, and magnified date window at 3 o'clock
- 40 mm, Length: 210mm, 23k gold-plated stainless steel case with mineral dial window. Movement Caliber: NH35A
- Japanese automatic movement with analog display
- Gold & Stainless steel tone bracelet with foldover clasp with safety closure
- Water resistant to 200 m (660 ft): In general, suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not scuba diving.
The reference’s combination of a self-winding movement, time-and-minute-only display and approximately 40-hour reserve reflects the priorities of this particular ultra-thin model. It does not add a date display or other complication to the dial.
2016 launch price, not a current valuation
Contemporary 2016 reports recorded different U.S. dollar figures. Monochrome listed €60,400 including VAT and US$55,750; Hodinkee and Watch Collecting Lifestyle each reported US$55,700. These are launch-era prices, and the small dollar discrepancy is preserved as reported rather than reconciled. They are not current retail prices, asking prices or estimates of resale value.

What is known—and not established—today
Vacheron Constantin’s historical model page and the 2016 coverage document the 2000V’s specifications, certification and launch-era pricing. Those sources do not establish whether the reference remains in production, whether any dealer has stock, or what it currently trades for.
