Some identifications go only as far as a model family; exact references are visual estimates, and Paul McCartney’s Aquanaut is disputed.
What watch is James Corden wearing in Carpool Karaoke?
Time+Tide Watches’ Zach Blass identifies two watches worn by Corden across the series: an Omega Speedmaster in an earlier appearance and, later, a 41 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding. Blass proposes that the Speedmaster is a sapphire-sandwich model with an 1861 movement, but presents that as an inference from the video’s release date and the watch’s visible profile—not as a confirmed reference. Time+Tide’s retrospective gives the fuller set of identifications.
Hodinkee also identifies Corden wearing an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak in the Liverpool segment, specifying reference 15400. That is a more exact attribution than the 41 mm family-level identification in Time+Tide; neither account supplies confirmation from Corden or the manufacturer. Hodinkee’s 2018 account covers that appearance.
What watch does Paul McCartney wear in Carpool Karaoke?
The two articles disagree on the precise Patek Philippe Aquanaut reference in McCartney’s Liverpool ride. Hodinkee calls it a steel Aquanaut reference 5165A; Time+Tide identifies it as reference 5167. The available accounts do not settle which reference is correct, so the defensible identification is the Aquanaut family, with the reference left unresolved unless the footage can be examined closely enough to distinguish them.

How certain are these watch identifications?
These are watch-publication readings of what appears on screen, not a verified inventory of the wearers’ watches. A model-family match is generally a narrower claim than naming a reference: similar watches can be difficult to distinguish in moving footage, and a release date can suggest—but does not prove—which version is shown.

Blass explicitly marks the early Speedmaster reference as an assumption. He writes: “Based on the release date of the video and the profile of the watch, it is safe to assume it is a sapphire sandwich Omega Speedmaster with an 1861 movement inside.” That wording is his inference, not confirmation by Corden, Omega or another primary source.
