Watches and Wonders Geneva’s 2024 edition was scheduled for April 9–15, with the general public invited to Palexpo-Geneva on April 13–15. The foundation announced the three public days on January 30, describing them as the first time the Salon would open to the public; the first four days were reserved for industry professionals.
When could the public attend Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024?
The full event ran from April 9 to 15, 2024, at Palexpo-Geneva. The first four days were for industry professionals, and the final three—Saturday, April 13, through Monday, April 15—were scheduled as public days. The foundation’s April 4 press kit confirmed that schedule after its January 30 announcement.
At the time, organizers said public tickets would be sold exclusively through watchesandwonders.com from February 6, for one, two, or three consecutive days. Those tickets and dates applied to the 2024 event and have expired; this announcement does not establish access arrangements for any later edition.
How did public access differ from professional access?
| Dates | Audience | Hours stated for public days |
|---|---|---|
| April 9–12, 2024 | Industry professionals; not public days | Not stated in the public visitor terms |
| Saturday, April 13, 2024 | General public | 8:30 a.m.–7 p.m. |
| Sunday, April 14, 2024 | General public | 8:30 a.m.–7 p.m. |
| Monday, April 15, 2024 | General public | 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m. |
Under the event’s 2024 visitor terms, last entry was 30 minutes before closing. Public tickets were limited by date, had to be purchased online in advance, and could be bought no later than noon on the day of the visit. Children under 12 had to be registered and accompanied by an adult. These were historical terms for that edition, not current ticket guidance.

- Small-group product presentations: Visitors could register on-site to see timepieces up close.
- Guided tours: Tours were to be led by watchmaking experts.
- Watchmaking lectures: Organizers announced ten lectures in the auditorium over the weekend, with topics including economics, society, and technology.
These were announced features of the program; the available official material establishes what organizers planned, not independent verification that every session or activity took place as described.

What did organizers report after the event?
In its post-event figures, the Watches and Wonders Geneva Foundation reported more than 49,000 unique visitors across the week, including 5,700 retailers and 1,500 journalists. The foundation also said the average age on the public days was 35. That age figure was presented in an April 4 statement by CEO Matthieu Humair, rather than as the result of a separately described study.
The attendance figures are organizer-reported; no independent audit is cited in the available official material. They describe the 2024 edition only.

Why was the 2024 public opening notable?
The change was the access format: four days remained reserved for professionals, followed by three days scheduled for the general public. The foundation described the public opening as a first for the Salon. Its program announcement paired that broader access with product presentations, expert-led tours, and lectures intended for visitors with different levels of watchmaking knowledge.
