This is an archival photo feature, not a current watch-buying guide: Monochrome Watches published it on 6 May 2013, with photographs credited to Watch Anish. Its seven named watches are presented as part of styled scenes, where clothing, setting and composition share the frame with the timepiece.
What is the Watch Anish collection?
Monochrome Watches’ “Weekly Watch Photo – Collection by Watch Anish” is a visual feature by Frank Geelen, published on 6 May 2013. Rather than compare watches by price, specifications or ownership experience, it showcases photographs that place each watch within a broader style and lifestyle setting. Geelen describes the images as showing watches in their “natural habitat.”
The feature credits Watch Anish for the photographs. In related Monochrome coverage published on 31 July 2013, Watch Anish is identified as the creation of Anish Bhatt, working with photographers, camera operators, editors and models. That article describes its focus at the time as high-end watch photography, supercars and men’s accessories; it does not establish the group’s present-day team or activity. Which watches appear in the photo feature?
The page names seven watches or watch families. Captions identify models and, where specified, a particular treatment or material:
#1 Best Overall
| Watch named in the feature | Caption detail |
|---|---|
| Rolex Sky-Dweller | Includes a black DLC-coated example by Bamford, shown both off-wrist and on-wrist. |
| Speake-Marin Spirit Mark II | No further variant detail stated. |
| Vintage Zenith El Primero | Identified as vintage; no further specification stated. |
| Hautlence HL2.3 | No further variant detail stated. |
| Chopard L.U.C. 1937 Classic | Identified in red gold. |
| De Bethune DB28 | No further variant detail stated. |
| URWERK UR-110 PTH | No further variant detail stated. |
These names are the feature’s identifications, not a technical comparison. The photographs place watches from different makers in distinct visual settings, but the page does not evaluate them against shared criteria such as movement performance, fit, price or long-term ownership.
How to read the styling and the Rolex example
The collection’s subject is the image as a whole: wristwear, clothing and surroundings are composed together, rather than treating a watch as an isolated product shot. In describing the pictures, Frank Geelen wrote: “British style guru Watch Anish and his team, always create über-dandy-styled pictures, showing not “just” a watch, but an ensemble that is striking!” The line is Geelen’s editorial description, not a quotation from a watchmaker or technical expert.

The black DLC-coated Sky-Dweller is specifically described as a Bamford example. It should not be read as evidence that Rolex offered that finish as a factory configuration. The 2013 feature also does not establish whether any pictured watch, exact variant or model line is currently available.

- It establishes: the feature’s publication date and byline, its Watch Anish photo credit, and the watch names identified in the text and captions.
- It does not establish: present-day prices, stock, condition of the pictured watches, current model-line status, or verified listings.
- It is best used as: an archival visual reference to a 2013 watch-photography feature, not a current product guide or purchase recommendation.
