What Patek Philippe Was Mark Zuckerberg Spotted Wearing?

Mark Zuckerberg’s partially visible watch was identified as a Patek Philippe ref. 5236P. The salmon-dial 2024 variant is a likely match based on the strap color, but the image does not confirm it.

Time+Tide identified the watch Mark Zuckerberg wore in a 2024 Instagram photo as a Patek Philippe ref. 5236P. The report says Zuckerberg confirmed the identification in a comment. Its more specific guess—that it was the salmon-dial 2024 version—is likely, not certain: the photo shows only part of the watch, and the strap color informed the variant identification.

How the watch was identified

In a report published September 3, 2024, Time+Tide described an Instagram photo of Zuckerberg with his arm around Priscilla Chan. Only part of the watch case and crown is visible. The report attributes the initial identification to watch spotter Niccoloy, then says Zuckerberg confirmed the identification in a comment on his post. It does not reproduce the comment’s wording, so the confirmation is best understood as confirmation of the reference, not proof of every detail of the watch’s configuration.

Why the salmon-dial version is a likely match

Time+Tide’s identification is the Patek Philippe Grand Complications Perpetual Calendar ref. 5236P. It suggests the salmon-dial version introduced in 2024 because of the strap color visible in the photo. The image is too partial to establish the exact variant with certainty.

The supporting model coverage describes the 2024 reference 5236P-010 as having a platinum case, an opaline rose-gilt dial, and a brown alligator-leather strap. Those are specifications for that model, not independently verifiable details of every feature in the Instagram image. Time+Tide’s Watches & Wonders 2024 coverage lists the case at 41.3 mm in diameter, with 30 m water resistance, and identifies the movement as calibre 31-260 PS QL.

What the 5236P perpetual calendar displays

The 5236P’s calendar layout brings several indications together: day, date, and month apertures, plus day/night and leap-year indicators and a moonphase display. Its listed functions also include hours, minutes, and small seconds. The movement article describes calibre 31-260 PS QL as using a platinum micro-rotor.

The watch’s appeal in this sighting is therefore not simply its dial color: the reference is a complex calendar watch, while the salmon-toned dial is the likely detail that distinguishes the 2024 configuration in the cropped image.

What the sighting does not establish

  • The photo does not show the entire watch clearly enough to verify the salmon-dial configuration independently.
  • The report identifies the reference and says Zuckerberg confirmed it, but does not establish when or how he acquired the watch.
  • No verified current retail or secondary-market price is given; the supporting model coverage lists the price as “On request.”
