Victorinox’s Swiss visitor options are in three different places: Ibach has the company headquarters and factory store, nearby Brunnen has a knife museum and hands-on assembly experience, and Delémont is a production site that offers factory tours. Those are not interchangeable visits. In particular, current information about access to the Ibach production facility conflicts, so confirm directly with Victorinox before planning a factory tour.
Can you visit the Victorinox factory in Switzerland?
Yes, Victorinox publishes factory-tour details for Ibach and Delémont, but access depends on the location and current arrangements. The Ibach tour information on Victorinox’s factory-visit page describes reserved group visits. However, a 2026 HighlightsSchwyz visitor feature says the Ibach factory itself is closed to visitors. Contact Victorinox to establish whether an Ibach production tour is currently being arranged rather than relying on the online listing alone.
Brunnen is the clearer choice for a public-facing Victorinox experience: its visitor centre combines museum material, production films, retail, and an optional guided knife-assembly activity. Delémont is a separate production location with its own tour arrangements.
Which Victorinox location should you visit?
| Location | What visitors can see | Who can visit and how | Practical qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ibach | Company headquarters and factory store; a production tour is described by Victorinox, but visitor access is disputed by a 2026 regional feature. | Victorinox lists reserved tours for groups of 7–21, ages 16 and older. The listed duration is about 1.5 hours; German is the default language and English is available upon request. | Confirm tour availability directly. The published tour is not barrier-free and requires walking steadily without assistance. Store hours were not visible on the official page reviewed; check before going. |
| Brunnen | Swiss Knife Valley visitor centre and knife museum, production films, brand store, and optional guided knife assembly. | Regional tourism reporting describes a public visitor experience and recommends booking assembly ahead, especially in busy periods. | The museum is reported as free; assembly has a fee, but the current amount is not stated in the regional feature. |
| Delémont | Victor inox production tour through manufacturing, from raw-material stock to packaging, according to a regional tourism brochure. | Victorinox lists group tours for 6–50 people, about one hour, with French, German, and English available. A regional brochure says individuals may reserve for a first-Wednesday monthly tour. | Confirm individual-tour availability with the factory: the current official overview lists group details, not the individual schedule. Do not assume brochure prices are current. |
What to expect at each stop
Ibach: headquarters, factory store, and uncertain production access
Victorinox’s Ibach factory-store page places the shop at company headquarters at Schmiedgasse 57, 6438 Ibach. Its listed categories include pocket knives, kitchen and professional knives, watches, and a small selection of travel accessories. The store is distinct from the production tour; a visit to the shop does not mean visitors can enter the factory.

The official tour listing gives Ibach group sizes of 7–21 people and a minimum age of 16. It describes tours of around 1.5 hours on weekday morning windows Monday through Friday and afternoon windows Monday through Thursday. German is listed as the default language; English is available on request. The facility is not barrier-free, and participants need to walk steadily without assistance. The published information also says there is no break or seating during the tour. Weekends, public holidays, and company holidays in July and December are listed as closures.
Because the 2026 regional feature says the Ibach factory is closed to visitors, treat those published conditions as a description of the listed tour, not confirmation that a booking is currently possible. Verify directly with Victorinox before making travel plans. The official store page links to opening hours, but the hours themselves were not stated on the page reviewed.

Brunnen: museum, production films, and knife assembly
The Swiss Knife Valley visitor centre is at Bahnhofstrasse 3, Brunnen, according to HighlightsSchwyz’s 2026 feature. Rather than a tour of the Ibach production floor, the Brunnen visit offers museum displays and production films alongside the Victorinox brand store.
Visitors can also assemble a pocket knife under guidance and have a name engraved, as described by the regional feature. Victorinox lists the assembly activity at approximately 20 minutes per person; the regional feature gives a range of 20–30 minutes. The museum visit is reported as free, while assembly is paid; the feature does not state the current fee. It recommends reserving ahead, particularly during busy periods.

The regional feature describes Brunnen as around 45 minutes from Lucerne by train. That is travel guidance, not a live timetable, so check connections for your date. If you buy a pocket knife, plan how to transport it: the same feature cautions that pocket knives are not allowed in aircraft cabins. Check the rules that apply to your airline, airport, and itinerary, and consider checked baggage or shipping where appropriate.
Delémont: a separate production site
Delémont is not another name for the Ibach factory. Victorinox’s current factory-tour page lists tours there for groups of 6–50, lasting about one hour, with French, German, and English available. Its published schedule gives weekday morning and afternoon windows; the page also lists weekends, public holidays, and company holidays in July and December as closures.

A Jura Three-Lakes tourism brochure identifies the facility at Route de Bâle 63, 2800 Delémont, and describes a manufacturing tour through workshops, from raw-material stock to packaging, including pocket knives, butcher knives, and peelers. That brochure says individuals can join a guided tour on the first Wednesday of each month with advance reservation. A separate Victorinox brochure dated 2023 also describes first-Wednesday individual tours and a factory shop. Since the current official overview presents group-tour details without the individual option, check with Delémont before building an individual visit around that schedule; confirm prices as well.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where are Victorinox watches made?
The available location-specific information supports two limited facts: the Ibach factory store sells watches, and a Victorinox Delémont brochure says that watches are made in Delémont. It does not establish which models, components, or production stages are handled there, or that every Victorinox watch is made at that site. For a visit, Delémont is the location associated with watch production in the brochure; the Ibach shop is a retail option.

Quick Recap
How to plan the visit
- Choose the experience. Go to Brunnen for the visitor centre, museum, and optional assembly; consider Delémont for a production tour; treat Ibach as the headquarters and factory-store stop unless Victorinox confirms that a production visit is available.
- Confirm access and reserve. Contact the relevant Victorinox location about current tour availability, group requirements, language, dates, fees, and any reservation needed. This is particularly important for an Ibach production tour and a possible individual tour in Delémont.
- Check mobility and timing. Ibach’s published tour requires steady walking without assistance and has no seating or break. For all locations, check current opening arrangements and closure dates before travelling.
- Verify transport and knife carriage. Use a current timetable for rail connections, and check airline and airport rules before taking a knife on a flight.
