The Panerai Radiomir PAM00210 is compelling for its restraint: a black sandwich dial, two hands, no extra complications and a hand-wound movement, wrapped in a 45 mm steel case. That combination makes it a clear choice for someone drawn to Panerai’s vintage-inspired Radiomir design language who wants a large, simple mechanical watch. It is not an automatic recommendation: wrist fit, the condition of an individual example and its service record matter more than an old asking price or a seller’s generic description.
What is the PAM00210?
PAM00210, also written PAM 210, is a discontinued reference in Panerai’s Radiomir collection. Fratello reports that it was produced from 2005 to 2012, but that span is secondary reporting rather than an official production ledger. The Panerai Reference Database lists production batches from H through N while separately labeling the production years as 2005–2007; the discrepancy means the database’s batch entries should not be treated as a definitive total. Fratello’s 2024 account and the Panerai Reference Database provide those differing accounts.
Key specifications
| Feature | PAM00210 |
|---|---|
| Collection and reference | Radiomir; PAM00210 / PAM 210 |
| Case | Stainless steel; 45 mm diameter and 13 mm height, according to the reference database |
| Dial and display | Black sandwich dial; two hands, as described by Fratello |
| Movement | OP X listed by the reference database; manual winding described by the retailer and Fratello |
| Power reserve | 56 hours, reported by Fratello |
| Water resistance | 100 m, listed by the reference database and a retailer for one circa-2007 example |
| Lug width | 26 mm, according to the reference database |
Specifications can vary in how sources describe or measure them, and a reference-level figure is not a condition report for a particular watch. In particular, the listed 100 m water resistance does not establish that a decades-old example remains water-resistant today.
Why choose this Radiomir?
A dial with little to distract from its essentials
The PAM00210’s appeal is partly what it leaves out. Fratello characterizes it as a straightforward black-dial watch with a sandwich construction, two hands and no complications. There is no date display or additional indication to interrupt the dial’s simple layout. The result is a watch for a buyer who values that visual economy rather than one looking for maximum functionality.

Hand-winding as part of the appeal
Winding the watch by hand is a deliberate part of the ownership proposition, not a convenience feature. The retailer describes its example as manual winding, and Fratello identifies the movement as a modified hand-wound caliber, reports a 56-hour power reserve and says the reference is COSC-certified. Those movement details are Fratello’s account, not a guarantee about an individual watch’s current performance or a service-cost promise. Its writer also offers a favorable opinion about serviceability; that is an editorial assessment, not a Panerai commitment.
Historic design language, not proof of military service
The Radiomir’s design vocabulary reaches back to Panerai’s historical work. Panerai says the name Radiomir was documented in a French patent addendum filed March 23, 1916, and describes a 1935 prototype program for the Italian Royal Navy. Its account of Ref. 3646 highlights a large cushion-shaped steel case, wire lugs, luminous numerals and indexes, and a manual mechanical movement. It also explains that overlapping dial discs—“sandwich dials”—were used to make luminous material more legible. These details help explain the style echoed by later Radiomir watches; they do not establish that a PAM00210 itself was issued for military use. See Panerai’s official Radiomir history.

Fratello’s Thomas Van Straaten calls the PAM00210 a neo-vintage interpretation and contrasts its 45 mm case with a historical 47 mm size. His verdict, “This is reference PAM00210, and I would argue that this is prime Panerai,” is one writer’s opinion, not an objective ranking of the collection.
Is a 45 mm PAM00210 too large?
There is no universal wrist-size cutoff that makes this case a good or bad fit. At 45 mm across and 13 mm high in the reference database, the PAM00210 has a substantial presence. Fratello’s writer says he found it wearable on his 17 cm wrist, but that is a single person’s subjective experience, not a fit guarantee for another wrist. Case shape, lug position, strap, personal preference and how the watch sits all affect the result.

- Confirm the actual strap attachment and lug width before ordering a replacement. The database lists 26 mm, but verify the individual watch and strap compatibility.
What should you pay for a pre-owned PAM00210?
There is no single current value established by the available examples. Fratello cited an approximately €4,000 average pre-owned price in an article dated January 26, 2024. Separately, Bucherer/Tourneau showed a USD $4,800 asking price for one circa-2007 example when its listing was checked on October 8, 2026. The figures are not directly comparable: one is a dated author-reported average and the other a single retailer’s asking price, not a completed sale or market average.
Use a listing price as a starting point for evaluating the specific watch, not as a verdict on what every PAM00210 is worth. Condition, originality, service documentation, seller protections and any work the watch may need can change the practical cost. Include potential servicing and strap needs when comparing examples.

How to assess a specific example before buying
- Verify the identity. Compare the reference and serial details on the watch and its documentation. Ask the seller to explain any mismatch or missing record; do not treat a database entry as proof of authenticity.
- Inspect condition and originality. Request clear photographs and a description of the case, dial, hands, movement and any replaced parts. Establish what is original, what has been changed and what condition issues are known.
- Ask for service records. Request dated invoices or service documentation, what work was performed and by whom. A seller’s “serviced” label is more useful when the scope and paperwork are clear.
- Confirm water resistance independently. Do not rely on the model’s listed 100 m rating for an older watch. If water use matters, ask for a current pressure-test result for the particular example and understand its limits.
- Read the transaction terms. Confirm return rights, warranty coverage, exclusions and who pays for shipping or service if a problem appears. These protections depend on the seller and the written terms of the specific sale.
- Calculate the all-in cost. Include the purchase price, any likely service, and a correctly sized strap if needed. Compare that total alongside the watch’s condition and documentation rather than focusing on the headline price alone.
One Bucherer/Tourneau listing illustrates what a seller may offer: it described its circa-2007 example as authenticated and fully serviced, cited a 30-point inspection and pressure testing, and stated a two-year warranty for internal movement defects. Those are claims and terms for that seller’s certified-pre-owned offering, not assurances attached to every PAM00210. Check the current listing and obtain the applicable terms in writing before relying on them. View the retailer listing.
Who is the PAM00210 for?
It is a natural candidate for a buyer who wants a sizeable steel Radiomir with a restrained black dial, a hand-wound movement and a design that draws on Panerai’s historical aesthetic. It is less suited to someone who prioritizes a smaller case, automatic winding, a date complication or a purchase decision based on a confidently established current market average. The right example is the one whose fit, condition, documentation and protections make sense together—not simply the one with the most persuasive listing copy.
