The de GRISOGONO Otturatore is “four-faced” because its moving dial lets the wearer select one of four indications: seconds, date, moon phase or power reserve. It does not have four permanent dial faces; a pusher advances the display so one indication appears while the others are hidden.
How the Otturatore’s four indications work
The Otturatore uses a mobile dial as a sequential selector. Pressing a pusher advances it in 90-degree increments, bringing the next indication into view. The four displays are seconds, date, moon phase and power reserve. The “four-faced” description refers to these selectable views, not four separate watches or four dials visible at once.
WorldTempus called the mobile mechanism the watch’s centerpiece in its 2011 profile. The profile says the watch was shown as a prototype in 2008 and was later available on the market in five models, including two boutique exclusives. Those are launch-era historical claims, not a statement about current production or availability.

The 42-hour reserve in the specifications is the movement’s operating reserve; power reserve is also one of the four indications shown by the selector. The same profile reports the 574-part movement and 55-piece series for its described version.
Do not confuse it with the Meccanico dG
The Otturatore’s four indications are sequential views selected by a moving dial. The de GRISOGONO Meccanico dG is a different model: its four-sided microsegments support a mechanical digital display. Industry coverage uses “four faces” in descriptions of that model too, so the phrase alone can be ambiguous; the Otturatore is identified by its seconds, date, moon-phase and power-reserve selector.
