The Seiko Prospex Landmaster SBDB015 is an imposing titanium Spring Drive GMT with an unusual 12 o’clock crown and a substantial 49.4 × 46.7 mm case. It has real wrist presence, but the available dimensions and retailer-listed 140 g weight make fit a personal question—not one that can be settled by calling it a winner or a miss from a spec sheet. For the right wearer, it is a compelling Landmaster; for smaller wrists or anyone seeking a discreet daily watch, it may be too much.
What is the Seiko SBDB015 Landmaster?
The SBDB015 is a Prospex Landmaster model from Seiko’s adventure-watch line. GINZA RASIN describes it as a titanium Spring Drive automatic watch with a black dial and titanium bracelet. Its listing gives case dimensions of 49.4 mm long by 46.7 mm wide and a total weight of 140 g. The retailer also identifies it as a Miura Yūichirō-supervised adventure model and notes the crown at 12 o’clock; those are retailer descriptions, not details confirmed by an official SBDB015 catalog page in the sources available here. Kakaku.com lists the movement as caliber 5R66, with a 72-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance, and gives the case diameter as 46.7 mm. These are useful secondary catalog specifications, rather than figures confirmed by Seiko’s Landmaster history page. Kakaku.com gives August 2015 as the launch date. How large is it on the wrist?
The listed 49.4 mm length and 46.7 mm width point to a broad watch, while the retailer’s 140 g figure gives a sense of its listed total weight. These measurements do not establish how it will sit on a particular wrist: thickness, lug shape, bracelet articulation and individual fit matter, and the available sources do not provide a comparative wear test. If possible, try the exact watch on rather than judging by diameter alone. If buying remotely, ask for clear photos of the watch on a wrist and confirm the bracelet’s included links and return terms.

- CLASSIC FIELD WATCH DESIGN: Clean white dial with bold Arabic numerals and a compass bezel for excellent readability and everyday outdoor style.
- AUTOMATIC MECHANICAL MOVEMENT: Reliable Seiko automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve delivers smooth, battery-free performance.
- DURABLE STAINLESS STEEL BUILD: Constructed with a stainless steel case and solid link bracelet, featuring a Hardlex crystal and see-through case back.
- DAY-DATE DISPLAY: Easy-to-read day and date window with luminous hands and markers for quick timekeeping in various lighting conditions.
- EVERYDAY COMFORT: Designed for work, travel, hiking, and casual wear with 100M water resistance and a secure deployment clasp.
So, “wrist game” depends on the wearer. Its titanium construction may appeal to someone who wants an expedition-oriented watch without choosing steel, but titanium does not make a 46.7 mm-wide watch small. A wearer who likes large, visually assertive sports watches may enjoy the presence; someone looking for a low-profile everyday piece should be cautious.
What does the Landmaster name—and Spring Drive—mean?
Seiko’s official history says the Landmaster line began in 1993 with AGS, the company’s automatic generating system, later renamed Kinetic. Seiko presents Landmaster as an adventure-watch family that developed through changes in materials and functions for explorers. Its history also recounts an earlier titanium project shaped by adventurer Mitsuro Oba’s request to make the watch “1gでも軽くして欲しい” (“make it 1 g lighter”). That is collection history, not a claim about the SBDB015 specifically. Seiko’s Landmaster history

- Case diameter: 43.5mm
- Gold tone second hand
- Water Resistant To 165 Feet
- Power reserve: approximately 41 hours
- 21,600 vibrations per hour
The same official page explains Spring Drive in the context of the SBDB007 MIURA Everest 2013, a predecessor in the broader Landmaster story. Seiko says the mainspring drives the hands while a quartz oscillator and integrated circuit regulate timekeeping, without a battery. That provides useful family context, but it should not be treated as confirmation of every SBDB015 specification. For this exact reference, the retailer identifies the movement as Spring Drive automatic, while Kakaku.com lists caliber 5R66.
Is the SBDB015 worth buying?
There is no established current price or market-wide availability in the available listings, so a fair-value verdict would depend on the specific example and its asking price. GINZA RASIN’s listing was out of stock when checked, and its displayed zero is not a usable price. It demonstrates that a specialist dealer has listed the reference, not that the watch is currently available there or elsewhere.

For a pre-owned example, assess the individual watch rather than relying on the reference’s appeal alone:
- Verify the dial, caseback and documentation identify the exact SBDB015 reference.
- Ask for service records and details of any known repairs or timing issues.
- Inspect the case and bracelet condition, including whether the bracelet has enough links for your wrist.
- Confirm what paperwork and accessories are included, and read the seller’s return terms before payment.
- Compare the asking price with the watch’s condition, documented service history and provenance; no current market comparison is established here.
Where can you get an SBDB015 serviced?
Start with Seiko Japan’s customer-service page for its repair intake, care information and manuals, then confirm the correct service channel for your region. The page is an official starting point; it does not establish whether a particular SBDB015 is repairable or whether parts for an individual watch remain available. Ask Seiko or the authorized regional service channel about the specific watch before assuming a repair can be completed.
Who should consider it?
The SBDB015 makes the most sense for someone drawn to the Landmaster’s explorer-oriented identity, Spring Drive, titanium construction and conspicuous dimensions—and who can verify the condition and fit of the particular example. If you are comparing it with another large sports or GMT watch, weigh actual wrist comfort, bracelet movement, GMT usability, legibility, water resistance, service history and price together. The listed dimensions and secondary specifications offer a starting point, not a comparative performance ranking.
