The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is one of the best low-cost fitness bands for everyday tracking, bright-screen readability and long battery life—but it is not the best choice for everyone. Its larger 1.72-inch AMOLED display, lightweight aluminium design, 5ATM water resistance and broad workout support make it an excellent upgrade in daily usability over the Smart Band 9. However, it still lacks built-in GPS, NFC and payment support vary by region, and its health measurements are better treated as useful trends than medical-grade data.
Buy it if you usually carry your phone, want a simple tracker rather than a smartwatch, and can find the correct regional model at a genuinely low price. Keep the Smart Band 9 if yours still works and you do not need the larger display. Runners, cyclists and hikers who exercise phone-free should look at the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro or a GPS-equipped alternative instead.

Verdict
The Smart Band 10 is a polished refinement of Xiaomi’s affordable fitness-band formula. The screen is the most obvious improvement: it is larger, brighter and smoother to navigate. The aluminium frame and expanded strap choices also make it feel less disposable than many budget trackers.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →It records steps, heart rate, sleep, workouts and other wellness estimates, supports more than 150 sports modes, and can broadcast heart-rate data over Bluetooth. Its battery can last far longer than a typical smartwatch, although Xiaomi’s “up to 21 days” figure is a best-case claim rather than a normal guarantee.

- Google Fitbit Air is the unbelievably comfortable, exceptionally smart way to transform your health[1]; and Google Health brings together effortless tracking and adaptive coaching to help make the most of your everyday[2]
- Unlock more with Google Health Premium: With a premium membership, get personalized coaching that’s built with Gemini and adapts to your life[2]; get a 3-month trial at no cost to you[5] (Google Health Premium subscription sold separately)
- Comfortable fit - One Size Tracker (130-210 mm): The lightweight, micro-adjustable fit sits comfortably and quietly, so you can wear Google Fitbit Air through work, play, and sleep; advanced sensors and new algorithms power more accurate, precise health tracking, 24/7[1]
- Designed for every occasion: With no screen to distract you or disrupt your style, your tracker moves seamlessly from bracelet to workout band to sleep band, and you can change looks in seconds – just press the pebble in, click, and go
- Long battery life: Google Fitbit Air’s battery lasts up to a week, and fast charging gets you one day of battery life in just five minutes[6,7]
The central compromise remains unchanged: there is no built-in GPS. Outdoor routes, pace and distance depend on the GPS in your paired phone. NFC is also not universal, so contactless payments should never be assumed from the product name alone.
For basic activity tracking and notifications, the standard Smart Band 10 is an unusually strong value. For phone-free exercise, serious training analysis, dependable payments or smartwatch features, it is the wrong category of device.
See Xiaomi’s product information and regional specifications before buying, because features and editions vary by market.
What changed from the Smart Band 9?
| Feature | Smart Band 10 | Smart Band 9 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | 1.72-inch AMOLED | 1.62-inch AMOLED | More room for notifications, controls and workout information |
| Brightness | Up to 1500 nits in high-brightness mode, according to Xiaomi | Previous-generation implementation | Better outdoor visibility on paper; real-world performance depends on conditions |
| Refresh rate | 60Hz claim, with variation by interface | Previous-generation implementation | Smoother scrolling and animations |
| Motion sensor | Nine-axis | Six-axis arrangement | More sensor data, but not automatic proof of better accuracy |
| Battery claim | Up to 21 days | Up to 21 days | No major headline endurance upgrade |
| GPS | No built-in GPS | No built-in GPS | Phone required for route tracking |
| Water resistance | 5ATM | 5ATM | No meaningful category change |
The Band 10 is therefore an experience upgrade, not an essential tracking upgrade. The larger display, slimmer-looking bezels and new styling are noticeable every day. The sensor, swimming and software refinements matter more to particular users, but the core concept and battery positioning remain familiar.
Xiaomi’s launch announcement details the generation’s display, sensor and feature changes.
Design and comfort
The standard model uses a sandblasted aluminium-alloy frame and weighs 15.95g without the strap. Xiaomi lists its thickness as 10.95mm, excluding the protruding PPG sensor. That keeps it light enough for continuous wear, including overnight sleep tracking.
Quick-release straps make it easier to change the appearance than on many inexpensive bands. Xiaomi also sells versions such as the Ceramic Edition, with a ceramic frame, matching clasp and fluororubber strap. Availability is not universal: Ceramic, Glimmer, NFC and standard editions can differ by country.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →The larger body makes the Band 10 look more watch-like, but it remains a narrow fitness band rather than a miniature smartwatch. That is an advantage if you want something light and unobtrusive. It is less attractive if you want a large, app-filled wrist computer.
The display is the main reason to choose it
The 1.72-inch AMOLED panel gives the Band 10 noticeably more usable space than the Band 9. Xiaomi claims 1500-nit high-brightness mode, 2.0mm symmetrical bezels and a 73% screen-to-body ratio. The company also advertises a 60Hz refresh rate, while noting that the rate can vary depending on the interface.
That combination should make notifications, workout screens, watch faces and on-device controls easier to read. The smoother refresh rate is most apparent while scrolling, rather than in static information such as step counts.

Plus, gain detailed insights through professional analysis of your workouts to optimize each session.

- 1500 nits HBM brightness,Glanceable in any light:25% brighter than before, the display achieves a remarkable 1500 nits HBM brightness, making every message readable even in direct sunlight.
Always-on display is available, but it changes the battery proposition substantially. Xiaomi rates endurance at up to nine days with AOD enabled, while Notebookcheck reported roughly six days in its testing. Treat the brightness figure as a specification, not a guarantee of perfect direct-sun readability in every mode.
Fitness and health tracking
Everyday activity
The Band 10 is well suited to steps, daily movement, resting-heart-rate trends and general workout reminders. These are the kinds of measurements for which consistency matters more than laboratory-level precision.
It also offers sleep duration, sleep stages, naps, interruptions, stress-related features, calories, workout load and other wellness metrics. Blood-oxygen estimates, menstrual-cycle tracking and advanced training metrics such as VO2 max or recovery can depend on the regional software and app version.
Heart rate: useful, but not impeccable
Published reviews are not completely uniform. Tech Advisor found heart-rate tracking was not impeccable, while Notebookcheck reported generally accurate measurements in its testing. The sensible conclusion is that the Band 10 is useful for broad trends, but not a substitute for a chest strap or clinical equipment when precision matters.
Rapid interval changes, heavy wrist movement, cold skin, sweat, tattoos, water and a loose fit can all affect optical readings. Wear it about one finger above the wrist bone, tighten it so it does not move, and keep the sensor and skin clean. If exercise readings matter, compare them with a trusted reference rather than assuming that a single number is correct.

One free scan finds every outdated or missing driver and matches the right update for your exact hardware.Free scan · exact hardware matchHeart-rate broadcasting over Bluetooth is useful for compatible exercise equipment and apps. It should not be confused with GPS: broadcasting pulse data does not let the band record a route without a phone.
Sleep and wellness
Sleep duration and bedtime trends can help identify changes in routine. Sleep stages, sleep scores, stress, calories, blood oxygen and recovery should be treated as estimates produced by sensors and algorithms. They are not diagnoses and should not be used to make treatment decisions.
Workouts and swimming
Xiaomi advertises more than 150 sports modes and enhanced swimming analysis, including AI-assisted stroke recognition. These features give the band broad activity coverage, although the available metrics can vary by sport, region and software.
The Band 10 can record many workouts without a phone, but outdoor route data still requires a connected phone because the band itself has no satellite receiver. Indoor gym sessions, step tracking and basic activity recording are less affected by this limitation.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesGPS is the biggest limitation
The standard Smart Band 10 does not contain built-in GPS. For a phone-assisted walk, the band can use the phone’s location data, but you must carry the phone and allow Mi Fitness to use location in the background.

- Phone-assisted walk: route, distance and pace can be recorded if the phone, permissions and connection cooperate.
- Phone-free run: the band cannot independently map the route or provide full GPS-based pace tracking.
- Indoor workout: GPS is usually irrelevant, so the limitation matters much less.
- Ride with the phone in a bag: route tracking can work, but phone battery use and background-permission problems become part of the experience.
This is the decisive reason to consider the Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro, a Garmin or another GPS-equipped device if you regularly train outdoors without your phone.
Battery life: excellent, but not 21 days for everyone
Xiaomi claims up to 21 days in typical use, up to nine days with always-on display and up to eight days in intensive-use conditions. The user-guide material indicates roughly one hour for charging.
Those figures are useful ceilings, not promises. Always-on display, high brightness, frequent workouts, continuous heart-rate monitoring, numerous notifications, sleep tracking and phone-assisted GPS can all reduce endurance. Independent results demonstrate the difference: Notebookcheck reported approximately six days with AOD in its testing, while TechRadar notes the official 21-day estimate and the unchanged broad battery positioning.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
A realistic buying expectation is therefore:
- Light use with AOD off: potentially close to Xiaomi’s long-endurance claim, depending on settings.
- Normal notifications, sleep and automatic heart rate: materially less than the maximum, but still likely multi-day.
- AOD and frequent workouts: roughly a week or less is plausible based on independent testing.
- Heavy phone-assisted GPS use: endurance depends partly on the phone and how continuously location is supplied.
The benefit is not that every owner gets three weeks. It is that the Band 10 generally needs charging far less often than a smartwatch with a comparable display.
Water resistance
The Smart Band 10 has a 5ATM water-resistance rating and is marketed for swimming. Xiaomi references the ISO 22810:2010 standard in its specifications.
That does not make it indestructibly waterproof. Avoid diving, high-pressure water, hot tubs, steam rooms and prolonged exposure to chemicals. Water resistance can weaken after impacts, wear or seal damage. Use “5ATM water-resistant,” not “safe for every water activity.”
Mi Fitness, compatibility and smart features
The band uses Xiaomi’s Mi Fitness app. Setup and daily reliability depend on the phone, operating system, region, app version and permissions. Android battery optimization can stop background syncing, while denied notification access can prevent alerts from appearing.
Notifications, alarms, weather, music controls, find-phone, camera remote, calendar functions, watch faces and mini-games are available among the band’s smart features. Quick replies and some other functions can be platform-dependent. It is not a full smartwatch: there is no evidence here of a general app-installation ecosystem, cellular service, voice calling or rich smartwatch functionality.
Xiaomi says some Smart Hub features require a compatible Xiaomi phone or tablet running HyperOS 2 and the latest Mi Fitness app. That makes the Band 10 broadly useful across Android and iPhone, but not every Xiaomi ecosystem feature should be assumed to work on every phone.
Xiaomi’s regional product page and the user guide outline permissions and feature restrictions. Tech Advisor also describes parts of the Mi Fitness experience as clunky, so buyers who prioritize polished data presentation may prefer Fitbit, Samsung or Garmin ecosystems.

NFC and payments: verify before buying
Do not assume that every Smart Band 10 supports contactless payments. China launch material described separate NFC and non-NFC versions, and global availability differs by country and edition.
Before purchasing, check the exact model number, region, payment platform, supported banks and card compatibility. A marketplace listing may be an imported regional model and may not include local warranty or payment support. This is particularly important for US buyers, where marketplace availability does not establish official Xiaomi distribution or a local Xiaomi warranty.
Price and availability
Prices vary by country, edition, seller and date. Tom’s Guide reported marketplace prices of $51 for the standard edition and $62 for the Ceramic Edition on Amazon US on July 31, 2026. These were marketplace price observations, not necessarily Xiaomi’s official US MSRP.
TechRadar listed approximately $73.99, £39.99 and AU$133, while noting limited or unavailable normal US and Australian retail availability at its review time. Prices change, so treat all figures as dated signals rather than permanent pricing.
US buyers should verify whether a listing is an imported global, European or China-region product; whether the seller is authorized; which charger and languages are included; and what warranty and return rights apply.
Smart Band 10 or Smart Band 10 Pro?
The Smart Band 10 Pro is the natural step up within Xiaomi’s range for buyers who want a larger, more watch-like format and greater outdoor-exercise capability. It is not simply a better version for everyone: it costs more, is less minimalist and is less attractive to someone who wants a very light band for sleep and everyday wear.
Choose the standard Band 10 for low cost, small size, long endurance and phone-assisted exercise. Choose the Pro—or another GPS-equipped tracker—if independent outdoor route tracking is important.
Alternatives
| Alternative | Consider it if you want | Main trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Xiaomi Smart Band 9 | The same basic concept at a discount | Smaller display and fewer generation-specific refinements; little reason to upgrade if your Band 9 still works |
| Xiaomi Smart Band 10 Pro | A larger, more watch-like Xiaomi wearable and stronger outdoor capability | Higher price and less minimalist design |
| Fitbit Inspire 3 | Fitbit’s wellness app and Google-account ecosystem | Typically shorter battery and no built-in GPS; current pricing should be checked locally |
| Samsung Galaxy Fit3 | Closer Samsung/Galaxy integration | Platform and regional availability limitations; less compelling for iPhone users |
| Huawei Band 9 or Band 10 | Another slim band with a bright display and long battery life | App ecosystem, health-data integration and regional services differ |
| Garmin vívosmart or entry-level Garmin | A stronger training ecosystem and more serious sports features | Usually substantially more expensive |
Do not choose among these by specifications alone. GPS, payment support, phone compatibility, app quality and local warranty can matter more than a small difference in screen brightness or advertised battery life.
Who should buy the Xiaomi Smart Band 10?
- Buy it if you want affordable steps, sleep, heart-rate trends, notifications and casual workouts.
- Buy it if you value a bright, attractive display and much longer battery life than a typical smartwatch.
- Buy it if you normally carry your phone while walking, running or cycling.
- Buy it if you are comfortable using Mi Fitness and managing notification and background permissions.
- Skip it if phone-free GPS, dependable payments, cellular connectivity, smartwatch apps or advanced training analysis is essential.
- Skip it if you need highly validated medical measurements.
Should Smart Band 9 owners upgrade?
Keep the Band 9 if it remains comfortable, syncs reliably and already provides the tracking you need. Its headline battery positioning is broadly similar, and the Band 10 does not add built-in GPS.
Recommended Free Tools
Upgrade when the larger and brighter display, smoother interaction, new straps, Ceramic Edition, updated sensor or swimming features genuinely matter—or when your Band 9 is worn or failing. For most existing owners, the upgrade is desirable rather than necessary.
Buying checklist
- Confirm the exact edition: standard, Ceramic or NFC.
- Confirm the regional model, supported languages and Mi Fitness account compatibility.
- Check whether your country supports the payment platform and bank cards you use.
- Confirm that the seller is authorized and that local warranty and returns apply.
- Assume you will carry your phone for GPS route tracking.
- Budget for less than 21 days if using AOD, frequent workouts, high brightness or continuous monitoring.
Bottom line: The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 remains a top budget fitness-band recommendation for general tracking, display quality and battery value. The word “best” only holds for buyers who do not need built-in GPS, universal NFC payments or full smartwatch capabilities. At the right regional price, it is an excellent everyday band; for everyone else, the Smart Band 10 Pro or a more specialized alternative is the better answer.
