The Xiaomi Watch S4 looks and feels more polished than its budget positioning suggests, with a bright AMOLED screen, rotating crown and replaceable bezel. It makes the most sense as a style-conscious everyday smartwatch for notifications and basic fitness—not as a dependable training tool or a way to get every Xiaomi feature on any phone.
What the Xiaomi Watch S4 offers
Xiaomi lists a 1.43-inch AMOLED display, a rotating crown, interchangeable bezel design, health insights and more than 150 sports modes. The company also advertises everyday phone-connected functions and up to 15 days of battery life. Reviewers praise its appearance and general experience, while raising concerns about workout tracking and battery expectations.
Its strongest case is the blend of customization and everyday convenience: a bright display, notifications and controls in a watch designed to look more refined than its price category might suggest. Xiaomi says it supports connections to Health Connect, Strava and Suunto data services; check the setup and compatibility details for the specific phone and apps you use. Xiaomi Watch S4 product details and Tech Advisor’s review describe its features and everyday appeal.
Is the Xiaomi Watch S4 worth buying?
It suits everyday wear and basic fitness
Consider the S4 if you value its customizable look, screen and connected-watch basics, and your workouts are recreational rather than data-driven. It can cover notifications and a broad menu of advertised sports modes, but the mode count alone does not establish how consistently or deeply each activity is tracked.

It is a weaker fit for serious training
Reviews differ on tracking quality. Live Science found sleep and resting-to-low-or-moderate heart-rate readings useful in its review, but reported less reliable readings at high intensity and limited advanced training analysis. Wareable’s review of the 41mm variant found fitness and sleep tracking too inconsistent to recommend to most users. These are reviewer experiences, not clinical validation or proof that every watch performs identically. If precise workout data or structured training analysis is a priority, look for independent evidence about the exact alternative you are considering rather than relying on the S4’s advertised sports-mode count. Live Science’s review and Wareable’s 41mm review explain their different assessments.
How long does the battery last?
The advertised maximum is not a safe expectation for every owner. Xiaomi’s product page claims up to 15 days under its test conditions, which disable high-precision sleep, sleep-breathing, all-day stress and all-day blood-oxygen monitoring, among other conditions. Xiaomi’s figure is a manufacturer test claim, not a universal runtime.

- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
Independent observations also depend on the watch variant and use. Live Science reported a maximum of 10 days in its 2025 test with near-daily wear, sleep monitoring and at least four hour-long workouts per week. Wareable observed about four days during a workout-heavy stretch with the 41mm model. These are separate test contexts, not a head-to-head comparison; your monitoring settings and exercise use will affect runtime. Xiaomi’s battery conditions, Live Science’s test and Wareable’s 41mm review provide the respective details.
Phone compatibility and features to check
The Singapore specifications page lists compatibility with Android 8.0 or later and iOS 14.0 or later. That broad compatibility does not mean every feature works across every phone brand.
Rank #3
- Smart Hub: Xiaomi says it requires a supported Xiaomi phone or tablet running HyperOS 2, the current Mi Fitness app and Xiaomi Home app version 10.4 or later. Feature support varies by device and software.
- Calls and emergency messages: Xiaomi says third-party-app voice calls are unsupported. Emergency text messages will not send when the watch is connected to a phone from another brand.
- NFC and payments: Availability varies by region and may be subject to service restrictions. Check local support rather than assuming a feature is available where you live.
Confirm the feature you care about against your phone, country and current software before buying. See Xiaomi Singapore’s specifications and the global product page.
Health tracking is not medical monitoring
Xiaomi lists heart-rate, sleep, blood-oxygen and stress functions. It explicitly says the watch and its features are not designed for medical purposes or intended to predict, diagnose, prevent or cure disease. Treat its readings as wellness information, not a substitute for medical assessment or a clinical device.
Rank #4
Bezel, strap and charging accessories
Xiaomi says the watch comes with a bezel and strap kit, while additional kits are sold separately. It uses a two-pin magnetic charging dock, which is included in the package. Before buying a spare bezel, strap or charger, check compatibility and availability for your exact watch variant and region; the product specifications do not establish that every accessory listing will fit. Xiaomi also advises cleaning sweat and dirt from the gap around the detachable bezel after intense exercise, since salt buildup can affect installation or use. Xiaomi’s product page and Singapore specifications cover the kit and care details.

A current price and availability could not be established from the cited sources, so check Xiaomi or local retailers for a live quote. For historical context only, Tech Advisor cited £129.99 in the UK on March 2, 2025; Live Science listed £129.99 and €159.99 in its May 1, 2025 review. Those are dated regional references, not current prices or a universal price.

- It can be a gift option

- Current price and availability where you live.
- Compatibility with your phone, including brand-specific features.
- Battery life under similar monitoring and workout settings.
- Consistency of exercise tracking and depth of training analysis.
- Fit and comfort, including case and strap dimensions.
- Display quality, design and customization options.
Tech Advisor’s March 2025 review and Live Science’s May 2025 review offer dated assessments of the S4, but do not provide a current price comparison.
