LVMH announced an ambition to increase Zenith’s movement production for use across the group’s watch brands, but it has not published a production target, timetable or complete list of intended recipients. The plan was reported on November 15, 2024, when Frederic Arnault, then head of LVMH’s watch unit, said the group wanted Zenith to develop beyond its own brand into a movement manufacturer for LVMH.
What LVMH announced—and what it did not
Bloomberg reported on November 15, 2024 that LVMH planned to ramp up Zenith movement production to supply watches across the group’s watch division. Arnault described the ambition this way: “We think we can go beyond the brand to develop them as a movement manufacturer for the group.” (SWI swissinfo.ch, reporting Bloomberg’s account)
This was a strategic plan, not a disclosed manufacturing commitment with a measurable scale. The announcement did not state how many additional movements Zenith would make, when an increase would be completed, or which brands would receive them. The available reporting therefore supports an intention to expand group supply, not a claim that every LVMH watch brand will use Zenith calibres.
Which LVMH brands already use Zenith movements?
The Bloomberg-sourced SWI report said Zenith already made some movements for Hublot and had supplied TAG Heuer in the past. Those relationships show that movement-sharing within the group was not purely hypothetical, but they do not establish that either brand—or any other brand—would adopt Zenith movements across its range.

There is no complete public list in the cited reporting of future recipient brands. LVMH’s stated ambition was group-wide in scope; the specific deployments remain unconfirmed.
Why LVMH sees Zenith as a group movement maker
Zenith has an established manufacturing base in Le Locle, Switzerland. LVMH dates the brand’s founding there to 1865 and says it develops its own movements. Its El Primero was first unveiled in 1969; the company describes it as the world’s first automatic chronograph. That history and in-house experience make Zenith a plausible source of movements for other group brands, though they do not reveal how much new production capacity can be added. The rationale reported for the plan included building internal Swiss watchmaking capability and the possibility of cost synergies. These are strategic aims, not quantified savings or outcomes demonstrated in the cited sources. The SWI report also noted that LVMH declined to bid for watchmaking assets offered by the Sandoz Family Foundation, including Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier and Parmigiani Fleurier.
What later updates say about production
LVMH’s 2025 annual report said Zenith continued modernizing its Le Locle manufacturing facility. In March 2026, Hodinkee summarized an interview with Zenith CEO Benoit de Clerck in which production was described as being kept in line with retail sell-out, while movement-making and supply to other LVMH brands were being stepped up. The public sources cited here do not establish the scale or completion of the planned increase. In particular, they do not disclose:

Accordingly, the clearest reading is that LVMH announced an ambition to develop Zenith as a movement supplier for the group, with later reporting indicating continued modernization and group-supply efforts. The scale of the change remains unquantified.
