What is the 2020 Pasha de Cartier WSPA0009?
WSPA0009 identifies the 41 mm stainless-steel Pasha de Cartier introduced in the collection’s 2020 relaunch. Cartier’s regional product identifier appears as CRWSPA0009. This is the large model with a date; the relaunch also included a 35 mm version that omits the date, according to Monochrome Watches’ 2020 review and Hodinkee’s coverage.
The collection itself debuted in 1985. A story that Louis Cartier designed a waterproof watch for the Pasha of Marrakesh in the 1930s is often repeated, but its historical basis is disputed: Hodinkee calls the origin tale unsubstantiated, while the documented collection debut is 1985.

How the design wears and reads
The Pasha’s round steel case is set against a square inner minute track, four large Arabic numerals at the quarters and blue sword-shaped hands. The silver dial’s scallop pattern and gradient add texture without changing the high-contrast layout. The crown is capped by a screw-down cover set with blue synthetic spinel and attached to the case by a chain. That cap is the watch’s most conspicuous flourish: it gives the Pasha a recognizable personality, but the overall effect is deliberately distinctive rather than universal.

Rebecca Doulton’s 2020 Monochrome review describes a mix of brushed and polished steel, including a thick polished bezel. During her review session, she found the watch balanced on her wrist and credited the sloped lug module; she also found the crown itself small and potentially fiddly to operate. Those are her wearing observations, not a guarantee of fit or ease for every wearer.
Caliber 1847 MC and everyday use
The automatic 1847 MC drives the hours, minutes, small seconds and date. Monochrome’s 2020 specification lists a 40-hour reserve, 4 Hz frequency and 23 jewels; Cartier’s product result confirms the caliber designation. The 10-bar rating is approximately 100 m of water resistance. It is a stated rating, not a promise that any watch is safe in every water-related situation; follow Cartier’s care guidance and have seals checked as appropriate for the watch’s age and use.

Should you choose the 41 mm or 35 mm Pasha?
The 35 mm and 41 mm relaunch models share the Pasha design and movement, but the 41 mm WSPA0009 adds a date while the 35 mm version is no-date. The practical choice is primarily about preferred case presence and wrist fit, alongside whether you want the date display. Compare the two on your own wrist where possible; diameter alone does not determine how a watch sits.
