In 2025, watchmaking’s milestone calendar ranged from 15 years for Ressence to 290 years for Blancpain. This is an editorial selection of 25 notable anniversaries—not a definitive industry ranking—and its entries celebrate companies, brands, watches, collections and a partnership. Keeping those categories distinct makes the dates easier to understand.

What the 25 anniversaries represent

Fratello Watches’ January 17, 2025 roundup groups the milestones by age and includes both brand histories and individual watch or partnership anniversaries. Its “25” is a count of selected milestones, not 25 brands: some entries share a heading, and certain brands have more than one reason to celebrate. The Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie’s January 2026 retrospective offers a separate view of the year, describing birthdays for roughly two dozen brands and milestones for a dozen watches.

The list below follows Fratello’s selection. “Founded” or “years since” should be read according to the date and framing used in that coverage; it is not a claim that every modern brand identity began on the same date as its parent company or predecessor.

2025 anniversaries, from 15 to 80 years

Milestone What it marks
Ressence — 15 years Brand founded in 2010.
MB&F and Cvstos — 20 years Both founded in 2005.
Roger Dubuis — 30 years Brand founded in 1995.
Omega and James Bond — 30 years A partnership milestone, not an Omega founding anniversary.
Glashütte Original and NOMOS — 35 years Both are associated with 1990 milestones. For Glashütte Original, the cited anniversary refers to registration after German reunification, not the beginning of watchmaking in Glashütte.
IWC Da Vinci — 40 years A collection anniversary.
Hublot — 45 years A brand anniversary in Fratello’s roundup.
Maurice Lacroix — 50 years A brand anniversary.
Girard-Perregaux Laureato — 50 years A model anniversary, not the founding of Girard-Perregaux.
Rolex GMT-Master — 70 years Based on Rolex’s 1955 dating of the watch’s introduction; accounts citing 1954 produce a different anniversary year.
Corum — 70 years The brand anniversary; the roundup also notes its Bubble, Golden Bridge and Admiral lines.
Rolex Datejust — 80 years A watch-model anniversary.

Longer histories: 100 to 290 years

Milestone What it marks
Laco — 100 years A brand centenary.
Patek Philippe reference 97975 — 100 years The roundup marks the 1925 casing of this perpetual-calendar wristwatch; this is a watch-history milestone, not the brand’s centenary.
Baume & Mercier — 195 years A brand-history anniversary.
Audemars Piguet — 150 years Founded in 1875.
Zenith — 160 years Founded in 1865.
Panerai, TAG Heuer/Heuer and Chopard — 165 years Brand-history anniversaries associated with 1860.
Breguet — 250 years Founded in 1775.
Vacheron Constantin — 270 years Founded in 1755.
Blancpain — 290 years Founded in 1735.

The FHH’s January 6, 2026 retrospective independently confirms the 2025 milestones for Blancpain, Vacheron Constantin, Breguet and Audemars Piguet, along with Chopard and TAG Heuer. It also records anniversary activity beyond Fratello’s selection, including A. Lange & Söhne at 180 years, Hublot’s Big Bang at 20, Gerald Charles at 25 and Czapek Genève at 10. The differing selections reflect editorial scope, not a single official master list.

Why anniversary dates can be complicated

Company, brand, model or partnership?

A birthday can refer to a company’s establishment, a brand name’s first use, a watch’s debut, a collection’s launch or a commercial partnership. Seiko illustrates the distinction: the company says it was founded in 1881, while the first wristwatch with “Seiko” on the dial appeared in 1924, which the company identifies as the beginning of the Seiko brand. That is why a model or brand anniversary should not automatically be described as the company’s founding.

Historical dates may differ by source

The GMT-Master is the clearest qualification in this roundup. Fratello notes that many accounts date reference 6542 to 1954, while Rolex’s own website gives 1955. Calling 2025 its 70th anniversary follows Rolex’s date; the underlying historical disagreement is not resolved by the roundup.

Anniversary releases are not the same as current availability

Some brands issued commemorative products, but a release’s existence or limited-edition status does not establish that it can still be bought. The FHH retrospective reports that Blancpain marked its 290th year with a Grande Double Sonnerie and that Breguet concluded its 250th anniversary with the Expérimentale collection. Official brand pages also document specific commemorations: Casio’s 50th anniversary of Casio watches in 2024, Orient’s 75th-anniversary editions in 2025, and Laco’s centenary campaign, including a FRIEDA watch limited to 100 pieces. Laco’s campaign ended October 26, 2025; that historical campaign is not evidence of present stock.

Other brands marked anniversaries in different ways. Raymond Weil’s official history identifies 1976 as its founding year and presents its 50-year milestone in a commemorative chronograph description. These examples show why a roundup of anniversaries is best treated as a guide to what was being marked in 2025, rather than a current shopping list.
