Reference 126508-0008 is part of the 18 kt yellow gold Cosmograph Daytona range. Rolex describes its dial as “bright green and golden”; the counters are spray-coated, and the hour markers are 18 kt gold appliques. The hands and markers use Rolex’s Chromalight display, which the manufacturer describes as providing legibility in dark conditions.
Rolex’s 2025 newsroom coverage included this bright-green-dial yellow gold Daytona among its new dials and described the green finish as sunray. Fratello also identifies the configuration as 126508-0008. Hodinkee places the design in context with the earlier 116508, often informally called the “John Mayer Daytona.” That nickname is editorial shorthand, not an official Rolex model name; “John Mayer 2.0” is likewise a comparison some coverage uses, not the product’s name.

Yellow gold, tachymeter, and Oyster bracelet
The 40 mm Oyster case is made in 18 kt yellow gold. Its fixed yellow-gold bezel is engraved with a tachymetric scale, which Rolex says can be used to read average speed over a measured distance. The three-piece solid-link Oyster bracelet is also 18 kt yellow gold and closes with an Oysterlock safety clasp. An Easylink comfort extension link allows a 5 mm adjustment.
Movement and specifications
Rolex equips the 126508-0008 with calibre 4131, a Perpetual mechanical chronograph movement that winds itself as the wearer moves. The chronograph has a central seconds hand, a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, and a 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock.
