Lange & Söhne LANGE 1 DAYMATIC HONEYGOLD is a 250-watch limited edition that pairs the automatic Daymatic’s mirrored Lange 1 layout and retrograde weekday display with a 750 Honeygold case and brown 925-silver dial. Announced on 7 December 2025, it is the first Daymatic in Honeygold, according to the manufacturer.
What is the Lange 1 Daymatic Honeygold?
It is a 2025 limited edition of the automatic LANGE 1 DAYMATIC, reference 320.050. The brand says the Daymatic family began in 2010; this edition brings its 750 Honeygold case material to the model for the first time. A. Lange & Söhne announced the watch on 7 December 2025 and limits production to 250 pieces. The manufacturer’s release and official product page provide the model details.
The palette is deliberately warm: a Honeygold case and buckle frame a brown dial made from 925 silver, with a taupe hand-stitched alligator-leather strap. The outsize date appears in white numerals against a brown background. The manufacturer says it subtly reworked the bezel and lugs and recessed the hour-and-minute circle to give the dial more visual depth.
How does the Daymatic differ from the Lange 1?
The Daymatic preserves the Lange 1’s off-center, asymmetric design but mirrors the positions of its main displays. In the Daymatic, hours and minutes are on the right; subsidiary seconds and the outsize date are on the left. It is automatic, while the classic Lange 1 is manually wound.

The Daymatic’s weekday hand advances from Monday through Sunday, then jumps back to the start of the week. The date and weekday can be advanced independently, according to the official product page.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent timing or durability results. The release says the L021.1 is assembled twice and has a central rotor whose center segment is 875 gold and centrifugal mass is 950 platinum. The maker describes four slender rotor spokes as cushioning the rotor against shocks. It also lists a hand-engraved balance cock, Glashütte ribbing, screwed gold chatons and a sapphire-crystal caseback; these finishing details are the brand’s descriptions, not the result of an independent inspection.

What does Honeygold mean?
A. Lange & Söhne describes Honeygold as its exclusive alloy, with a warm hue, and says it is harder than other gold alloys. The official pages do not give a numeric hardness measurement or comparative test, so that description should be read as the manufacturer’s claim rather than an independently established comparison.

Release context
The manufacturer’s 7 December 2025 announcement connects the release to Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s establishment of the Glashütte manufacture in 1845 and Walter Lange’s relaunch of the brand in 1990. Anthony de Haas, Director of Product Development, characterized the edition as a watch “with a strong personality for aficionados of self-winding watches”—a promotional description from the maker, rather than an independent assessment.
