What is the pink-gold ZEITWERK DATE?
Reference 148.033 (also identified as LSLS1484AA) is the ZEITWERK DATE in 750, or 18-carat, pink gold. It pairs a grey 925 silver dial with a dark-brown alligator-leather strap and a matching pink-gold prong buckle. A. Lange & Söhne calls it “the first mechanical digital watch by A. How do the time and date displays work?
Jumping hours and minutes
Two apertures at the center of the dial show hours and minutes side by side. Rather than using conventional hands, the watch presents the time with numeral discs that jump as the display advances. A constant-force escapement supplies the switching impulse for those discs once per minute. The manufacturer says that amounts to 1,440 numeral-disc switches over a day.
A pusher at 4 o’clock advances the hour display separately. According to the brand, pressing it engages a clutch that uncouples the hour ring from the jumping-numeral mechanism.

A date ring that changes at midnight
The date is printed on a peripheral glass ring, with numerals 1 through 31. A colored segment beneath the ring moves forward one position at midnight to mark the current date. In its 25 July 2025 announcement, A. Lange & Söhne described the mechanism this way: “A small colour segment on a ring beneath the date ring performs one step exactly at midnight.” The date can be corrected with a pusher at 8 o’clock; the brand says the switching impulse occurs when the pusher is released.
