A. Lange & Söhne’s Challenging Chronographs pop-up exhibition is scheduled for October 18–30, 2026, at ION Orchard in Singapore. The announced programme will trace the Datograph chronograph lineage, connect Lange watches with classic-car concours, and include appointment-based watchmaking and engraving demonstrations.

The exhibition is scheduled for October 18–30, 2026, at the ION Orchard Level 1 Atrium, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801. The announced daily hours are 10:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m. Event details and registration information are available online; check them before travelling, as appointment availability and visitor information may change.
What will the exhibition cover?
From the Datograph to the Split chronographs
The announced watch story begins with the original Datograph, introduced in 1999, and extends to the Double Split and Triple Split. These models represent points in the brand’s chronograph history; the event announcement does not serve as a full catalogue or provide complete specifications for each watch. The programme announcement describes the lineage and demonstrations.
Watchmaking and engraving demonstrations
Programme announcements include a Glashütte master watchmaker explaining chronograph assembly and a master engraver demonstrating freehand engraving on a balance cock. Tours and demonstrations are appointment-based, with limited slots, and early registration is encouraged. These are scheduled activities, not demonstrations that have already taken place.

Why are classic cars part of the story?
Lange frames the exhibition around its relationships with classic-car concours, including Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, Hampton Court Palace and Audrain Newport. The brand’s own account of its Villa d’Este partnership describes a shared appreciation of mechanical elegance, precision, craftsmanship and history. One example of the connection is an 1815 Chronograph presented to the 2022 Villa d’Este Best of Show winner. That concours award watch is distinct from the chronograph models featured in the exhibition’s lineage: it illustrates a one-off recognition tradition, rather than establishing that every watch discussed at the pop-up is an award piece. Wilhelm Schmid, Lange’s CEO, has described the personal dimension of the comparison: “A classic car is much more than just a means of transport. The more we are absorbed by its transmission, body and history, the stronger our personal rapport with the vehicle. The same applies to a Lange watch that we do not wear simply to know what time it is.” Schmid’s statement
How the exhibition fits Lange’s wider chronograph history
The Datograph and Split models are not the only chronographs in Lange’s story. Richemont’s 2024 business review says the Odysseus Chronograph, presented in 2023, was the brand’s first self-winding chronograph and its 71st manufacture calibre since 1990. The review states that it measures elapsed time up to 60 minutes and was limited to 100 pieces. Those figures describe that particular model, not the exhibition as a whole. The same review records Lange’s continuing concours partnerships with Villa d’Este and Hampton Court Palace, as well as its inaugural main-partner role at Audrain Newport in 2023. The announced location is the ION Orchard Level 1 Atrium. Lange also has a Singapore flagship boutique at the shopping destination, but the event announcement does not say that the exhibition takes place inside the boutique. The brand’s December 2025 release says the boutique reopened in October 2025 as a two-storey space and its largest in Asia-Pacific. Lange’s boutique announcement
