What solar charging does on the T-Rex Dual Solar
Amazfit says the watch can capture solar energy through either its AMOLED display or its glass-ceramic back plate. The purpose is to slow battery consumption and extend runtime, not to make cable charging unnecessary. That distinction matters when troubleshooting: solar input may be contributing without producing an obvious jump in the battery percentage. The official information does not promise a visible charge indicator or a particular percentage increase after exposure.
How to interpret Amazfit’s solar battery figures
Amazfit’s US product FAQ lists up to 25 days of typical use as the baseline. It also gives two solar-assisted scenarios: up to 34 days of typical use with three hours of front-side sunlight exposure, or up to 51 days with three hours of rear-side exposure. These are Amazfit’s own scenario claims, not independent test results or guarantees. The three-hour, 50,000-lux condition describes the manufacturer’s battery-life scenarios; it is not a per-hour charging promise, and ordinary exposure should not be expected to produce a fixed battery increase.
Checks to make when solar charging seems not to work
1. Check whether you expected solar to replace the cable
Continue to use standard USB cable charging when the watch needs charging. Solar input is described as a way to extend battery life, not as a substitute for the cable.

2. Compare your exposure with the stated test condition
Consider whether the watch’s exposure was comparable to Amazfit’s published scenario of three hours of sunlight at 50,000 lux. This is a reference condition for its battery-life claim, not a minimum threshold or a guarantee that any given exposure will visibly raise the charge level.

If the watch continues to behave as though solar input is absent, start with the Amazfit Support product directory and select the T-Rex Dual Solar entry. Follow instructions published for that model rather than borrowing a procedure for a different watch.

When to contact Amazfit Support
Contact Amazfit through its official support directory if the watch still appears faulty after you have accounted for the difference between solar runtime extension and cable charging, and checked the model-specific guidance available there. The official product and support information cited here does not establish a T-Rex Dual Solar solar-charge indicator, a reset sequence, a temperature cutoff, or a user repair procedure. Do not open the case or try an unverified replacement part based on assumptions about solar charging.
