The ranking is Apple’s marketing claim, not an independently established result: the announcement compares noise reduction with earlier AirPods Pro generations, and no independent comparative test is cited here.
What Apple announced
Apple said AirPods Pro 3 would start at $249 in the U.S., with store availability beginning September 19, 2025. Those are the terms Apple announced at launch, not a statement of current price or stock. Apple’s September 9, 2025 announcement described the earbuds as its latest Pro model.
Do AirPods Pro 3 have the world’s best ANC?
That wording comes from Apple. The company said AirPods Pro 3 remove up to twice as much noise as the previous-generation AirPods Pro and four times as much as the original AirPods Pro. These are manufacturer comparisons; the announcement does not establish an independent ranking against other in-ear wireless headphones.
Apple senior vice president of Hardware Engineering John Ternus called them “the world’s best ANC of any in-ear wireless headphones.” Treat that as promotional positioning, not independent confirmation. To evaluate ANC against another model, look for a third-party test that measures both products under comparable conditions rather than relying on differing manufacturer claims.

How does heart-rate sensing work?
AirPods Pro 3 include a heart-rate sensor intended for workout tracking. Apple describes it as a photoplethysmography sensor that uses infrared light, pulsed 256 times per second. The feature works with the Fitness app on iPhone and supports more than 50 workout types, according to Apple’s announcement.
This is presented as a fitness feature, not a medical monitoring tool. Workout experiences can depend on compatible Apple devices and software, so check the current requirements for your setup before relying on the feature.

Fit, durability and connectivity
Apple says the earbuds have a redesigned fit and include five ear-tip sizes, including XXS. Ear shape and comfort vary, so the added size does not guarantee a suitable fit for every listener. The specifications list an IP57 rating for sweat and water resistance; that rating describes the product’s stated resistance, not a reason to assume it is suitable for every water exposure.
The AirPods Pro 3 technical specifications list Bluetooth 5.3. Apple says they can work as Bluetooth headphones with earlier Apple software and non-Apple devices, although functionality may be limited. Full feature functionality requires pairing with an Apple device running the latest operating-system software.

What to check before choosing them
- For an ANC comparison, separate Apple’s generation-to-generation noise-reduction figures from independent tests comparing competing earbuds.
- If workout heart-rate tracking matters, confirm that your iPhone, operating-system software and Fitness app support the experience you want.
- Check fit and the included tip sizes; a redesigned shape is not a guarantee of individual comfort.
- Compare battery estimates only when the use conditions match, especially whether ANC or workout sensing is active.
- Apple warns that some hearing-health features and Live Translation are not available in every region or language. Check Apple’s current feature availability for your location, language and device before assuming access.
