Best Buy has listed Apple Watch Series 9 models below $300, including a $299 Apple Certified Refurbished 45mm GPS configuration. But the available evidence does not verify a record-low price or a “today only” expiration—and some other refurbished configurations were listed for less.
What the Best Buy Apple Watch Series 9 prices actually show
Best Buy has indexed Apple Watch Series 9 listings below $300, but the evidence does not support calling $299 a verified record low or confirming that the deal is available “today only.” The clearest $299 listing is an Apple Certified Refurbished 45mm GPS model. Other indexed Best Buy results show Series 9 watches around $199.99 to $239.99, while a new 41mm GPS model was listed at $349.97.
Those prices are not interchangeable. Series 9 inventory varies by case size, GPS or cellular connectivity, case material, band, seller, condition, and local availability. Check the live Best Buy product page and checkout total before treating any displayed price as a current offer.
Which Apple Watch Series 9 deal is $299?
The $299 price applies to a particular configuration rather than to every Series 9 model. The indexed offer was an Apple Certified Refurbished 45mm GPS watch. That means it should not be compared directly with a new watch, a 41mm model, or a GPS + Cellular version.

| Indexed price | What the evidence indicates | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| $199.99–$239.99 | Several refurbished Series 9 configurations | Exact size, condition, seller, band, and availability differ |
| $299.00 | Apple Certified Refurbished 45mm GPS listing | Do not assume it is new or still in stock |
| $349.97 | Indexed new 41mm GPS listing | New condition and smaller case do not make it a like-for-like comparison |
| $146.99 | Historical or local-clearance 45mm GPS aluminum listing | The indexed item was marked unavailable |
One particularly low listing was a 45mm aluminum GPS model with a Storm Blue Sport Band, model MR9E3LW/A and SKU 6574343. Its indexed clearance price was $146.99, but it was unavailable. A price shown in a search result or cached retailer page is not proof of a purchasable nationwide deal.
Is this really a record low or a one-day sale?
There is not enough evidence to verify either claim. The indexed results show lower prices than $299 on some refurbished configurations, so $299 cannot be described as the all-time low for the Series 9 family. They also do not establish an explicit sale end time.
Best Buy’s live page would need to show a countdown, an end date, or clear “today only” sale language before that wording is reliable. Prices can also change when the last local-clearance unit sells, when a third-party seller replaces Best Buy inventory, or when the condition changes from refurbished to new.
The practical takeaway is more precise: some Best Buy Apple Watch Series 9 models have been listed from about $200, while a select refurbished 45mm GPS configuration has been listed at $299.

Choose the right Series 9 configuration before comparing prices
41mm versus 45mm
The 41mm and 45mm watches are different case sizes, not simply two prices for the same product. The 45mm display is larger and may be easier to read, while the 41mm case may suit smaller wrists or shoppers who prefer a less prominent watch. Band compatibility is size-specific: verify that a replacement band matches the case size shown on the listing.
GPS versus GPS + Cellular
A GPS model uses a paired iPhone for many connected functions. A GPS + Cellular model can use a compatible carrier plan for supported calls, messages, and data when the iPhone is away, but cellular service can add an ongoing plan cost.
Do not treat a cheap GPS + Cellular listing as automatically better value. Confirm that the watch can be activated with your carrier, whether it is carrier-unlocked where relevant, and whether the lower price is offset by a monthly cellular charge. A GPS-only model is usually the simpler choice for someone who normally carries an iPhone nearby.
Aluminum, stainless steel, and condition
Series 9 listings may use aluminum or stainless-steel cases and may include different sport bands or sport loops. A stainless-steel watch, a cellular model, or a particular band can explain a large price difference even when two listings both say “Apple Watch Series 9.” Condition matters just as much: new, clearance, open-box, Apple Certified Refurbished, Geek Squad Certified Refurbished, and pre-owned are separate buying propositions.

What to check on a refurbished or clearance listing
- Seller: Identify whether the item is sold by Best Buy, Apple, Geek Squad, or a third-party Marketplace seller.
- Condition: Read the precise label. “Refurbished,” “open-box,” “clearance,” and “pre-owned” should not be treated as synonyms.
- Battery information: Look for a stated battery-health figure or a minimum battery guarantee. If none is provided, assume battery condition is uncertain.
- Included equipment: Confirm that the box includes a compatible charging cable and the advertised band. Accessories can differ between listings.
- Activation Lock: A used Apple Watch must be removed from the previous owner’s Apple Account before it can be set up normally.
- Cellular compatibility: For a cellular model, check carrier support and activation requirements before buying.
- Warranty and returns: Read the listing-specific warranty, seller terms, and return conditions rather than relying only on the headline price.
- Blood-oxygen feature: U.S. buyers should verify the exact unit’s feature status. Some Series 9 watches sold in the United States after Apple’s regulatory dispute have blood-oxygen functionality disabled, and marketplace descriptions may be inconsistent.
Best Buy’s indexed return-policy material says the return period starts when the customer receives the product and includes new, clearance, open-box, refurbished, and pre-owned products. The cited policy shows a 14-day return period for cellular wearables, including for the listed membership tiers. Confirm the current checkout-specific policy, particularly for Marketplace purchases, because seller and category terms can affect the applicable rules.
Best Buy’s Marketplace guidance distinguishes refurbished from pre-owned products and says refurbished products undergo professional inspection and refurbishment. It also reserves “factory refurbished” wording for OEM-refurbished units or units refurbished on an OEM’s behalf. That guidance does not mean every Series 9 search result was refurbished by Apple.
What Series 9 still offers
Apple introduced the Series 9 in 2023. It is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes and in GPS and GPS + Cellular versions. The watch supports Apple Watch health, activity, notification, and safety functions, making a discounted refurbished model potentially attractive to an iPhone owner who does not need the newest generation.
Apple’s published battery figure is up to 36 hours in Low Power Mode under specified testing assumptions. That is a manufacturer test claim, not a guarantee of real-world battery life. A refurbished watch’s actual battery performance depends on its battery’s condition, settings, cellular use, workout tracking, and age.

Who should buy the $299 listing?
The $299 Apple Certified Refurbished 45mm GPS configuration can make sense if you want the larger case, do not need cellular service, and value a potentially lower price than a new Apple Watch. It is less compelling if the exact page shows a third-party seller, provides no useful battery information, or has a return policy that is difficult to use.
A lower-priced refurbished aluminum GPS model around $200 may be the better value for an iPhone owner who accepts cosmetic wear and uncertain battery history. A new model near $300–$350 may be worth the premium when warranty confidence, battery condition, and simpler returns matter more than reaching the lowest possible price.
Do not forget size-specific accessories
Accessories should be a secondary consideration after confirming the watch itself. If you buy a Series 9, a compatible magnetic charging cable, a band in the correct 41mm or 45mm size, and—if desired—a screen protector may be useful. Verify size compatibility before ordering: a band intended for one case grouping may not be the right choice for the other.

- Confirm the live price, stock status, and whether the item is available for shipping or pickup.
- Match the case size, connectivity, case material, band, and model number to the watch you actually want.
- Check whether the unit is new, clearance, open-box, refurbished, or pre-owned.
- Read the seller name and warranty terms, especially on Marketplace listings.
- Look for battery-health information and confirm the charger and band are included.
- Check activation-lock and cellular-activation requirements for used or cellular models.
- Review the current return period before placing the order.
- For a U.S. purchase, verify blood-oxygen functionality for that exact unit.
Bottom line: Best Buy’s Apple Watch Series 9 inventory has included compelling prices below $300, but “starting at $299,” “record low,” and “today only” are not reliable descriptions of the whole lineup based on the available evidence. Treat $299 as a configuration-specific refurbished price, compare the exact watch rather than the Series 9 name, and verify live stock and return terms at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions
An indexed Best Buy listing showed an Apple Certified Refurbished 45mm GPS Series 9 at $299. Other configurations were listed lower or higher, so check the live product page for current price, condition, and availability.
Is the Apple Watch Series 9 really $299 at Best Buy?
The available evidence does not establish a record low. Other indexed refurbished Series 9 listings were priced from about $199.99 to $239.99, although they may differ in size, condition, connectivity, seller, or materials.
Is $299 a record-low price for the Apple Watch Series 9?
That was not verified. Do not rely on “today only” wording unless the live Best Buy page displays an explicit end time, end date, or sale-period notice.
Does the Best Buy Series 9 deal expire today?
Choose GPS + Cellular only if you need supported connectivity away from your iPhone and have a compatible carrier plan. GPS is generally simpler and avoids the additional cellular-service cost.
Should I buy GPS or GPS + Cellular?
The Bottom Line
Best Buy has indexed Apple Watch Series 9 models from roughly $200, including a select 45mm GPS refurbished listing at $299. The evidence does not verify an all-time record low, a universal $299 starting price, or a today-only expiration. Confirm condition, seller, battery information, size, connectivity, feature status, stock, and the current 14-day cellular-wearable return terms before buying.
