What was the $190 AirPods Pro 2 deal?
On May 16, 2024, coverage reported that Amazon had AirPods Pro 2 for approximately $189.99, compared with Apple’s $249 list price—a saving of about $60. The promotion was time-sensitive and may have ended. The dated report is Android Headlines’ May 16, 2024 deal coverage; Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 buying page lists the new model at $249 in the United States in the cited price information.

A deal page remaining online does not mean its price is still available. Treat $190 as the reported 2024 price unless a retailer currently shows that price at checkout.
Which AirPods Pro 2 version was involved?
The original deal coverage identified the product as the USB-C version, but a headline alone is not enough to verify a retailer listing’s exact configuration. AirPods Pro 2 were sold with either a Lightning case or, from 2023, a USB-C case. Apple’s USB-C AirPods Pro 2 specifications describe a MagSafe Charging Case with a USB-C port, speaker and lanyard loop. The case supports USB-C, MagSafe, Qi-certified and Apple Watch charging.

Before ordering, confirm that the listing says AirPods Pro 2, shows the intended charging port and states whether the item is new, refurbished, open-box or used. Check the model details rather than relying on a search-result headline or product photo.
What the USB-C AirPods Pro 2 offer
The USB-C version uses Apple’s H2 chip and includes Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness, Personalized Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking and Voice Isolation. The case supports Find My. Apple lists Bluetooth 5.3, IP54 dust, sweat and water resistance for both earbuds and case, and four silicone ear-tip sizes: XS, S, M and L.

These are Apple’s stated specifications, not a guarantee of the same runtime in every use. Fit, settings and use affect battery life. A proper ear-tip seal also matters for noise control and hearing-protection performance.
What comes in the box?
Apple’s product listing specifies the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds, MagSafe Charging Case with USB-C, silicone ear tips in four sizes, a USB-C Charge Cable and documentation. A listing that omits the cable, shows a Lightning case or identifies the item as refurbished or open-box is not the same configuration and condition as a new USB-C set.

Are they worth $190 now?
At the time, about $190 was a solid mainstream discount: roughly 24% below the $249 list price. It was not necessarily the lowest historical price; other deal coverage reported lower temporary prices, including about $168.99 during a Prime Day promotion. For context, Apple Certified Refurbished USB-C AirPods Pro 2 were listed at $189, with a $229 previous price and $40 savings, in price information observed August 16, 2026. Apple’s refurbished listing states that Certified Refurbished products have a one-year limited warranty. That was a separate refurbished offer, not the 2024 Amazon deal, and the price should not be assumed to remain available. Check Apple’s refurbished product page for the current offer and terms.

- New at about $190: A worthwhile price if the seller is reputable, the USB-C model and condition are clear, and the return and warranty terms suit you.
- Refurbished at about $190: Compare its warranty, return terms and condition with any newer model near the same price.
- Lightning version at about $190: Less appealing if you want a USB-C case; look for a meaningful additional discount.
- Unfamiliar marketplace seller: The saving may not justify uncertainty about authenticity, condition or support.
What to know about compatibility and hearing features
AirPods Pro 2 can connect over Bluetooth, but several of their most integrated features are designed for compatible Apple devices and depend on supported hardware, operating-system versions and firmware. Personalized Spatial Audio, automatic switching and some Siri functions should not be assumed to work identically across every device or platform.
Apple also offers Hearing Test, Hearing Aid and Hearing Protection features, but availability and requirements vary by region and device; Hearing Test and Hearing Aid availability is subject to regulatory authorization. These features are not universally available medical treatment. Apple’s hearing-protection data sheet also warns that improper fit reduces protection effectiveness. IP54 resistance does not mean waterproof: do not treat the earbuds or case as suitable for swimming or submersion.

They may still make sense below $200 for an iPhone owner who wants noise cancellation, Transparency mode, wireless charging and Apple-device integration. But AirPods Pro 2 are no longer Apple’s newest Pro in-ear model: Apple’s comparison page lists them alongside newer AirPods Pro hardware. Check Apple’s current specifications and price for that newer model before deciding; the available comparison information does not establish a precise current price or a complete feature-by-feature value verdict.
Consider another option if you prioritize the newest hardware, use Android as your main platform, need a different fit, or want greater water resistance. Earbud comfort is individual, and battery performance can decline as a product ages, particularly with used or old-stock units.
