Arken’s UK product listing currently shows the Sage Grey model at £630, but marks it out of stock with preorder closed. That makes the watch’s travel-time display and release-specific specifications easier to assess than its immediate availability.
What makes the Alterum a travel watch?
The Alterum combines a titanium case and bracelet-free, quick-release nylon strap with a second-time-zone display. Arken describes its modified Miyota 9015-based ARK-9015DT2 movement as having a 12-hour GMT hand function. Hodinkee reports that the module sits atop the Miyota 9015 caliber. The original model’s hands-on coverage describes two 12-hour time zones, AM/PM indications for both, and a date subdial.

That distinction matters when choosing a travel watch: the Alterum’s function is best understood as a dual-time display. The available descriptions do not establish the independently jumping local-hour hand associated with a conventional traveler’s GMT. If that specific adjustment is essential, confirm the setting behavior with Arken before buying.
Is the Arken Alterum a true GMT?
“GMT” is used broadly in watch marketing. Arken calls the Alterum’s function a 12-hour GMT hand, while the described display tracks a second 12-hour time zone and includes AM/PM indications. Those indications help distinguish morning from evening in each zone, but the cited descriptions do not establish that the local hour hand jumps independently in one-hour increments. It is therefore more precise to call the Alterum a 12-hour dual-time watch than to assume it works like a traveler’s GMT.

How do the original models differ from the 2026 Sage Grey release?
The 2023 and 2026 published specifications do not agree on case diameter. Fratello’s hands-on coverage of the original 2023 model gives a 40mm diameter, 46mm lug-to-lug length and 13mm thickness. A 2026 Japanese launch announcement gives the Japanese release a 38mm diameter, 46mm lug-to-lug length, 13mm thickness and 20mm lug width. Arken’s current UK product page does not list dimensions. Treat these figures as release- and source-specific rather than a single settled specification.

The figures are not directly interchangeable: they refer to different publications, dates and, in one case, a Japanese release. The current UK listing does not resolve the diameter discrepancy.

Arken’s current product listing describes the Alterum as full titanium with an anti-scratch treatment and specifies 200m / 660ft water resistance, an underside anti-reflective sapphire crystal, BGW9 Super-LumiNova, a screw-locked primary crown and secondary pusher, and a tapered nylon strap with a case-fit quick-release system. These are maker-listed specifications, not independent test results.
The maker’s 2024 user manual covers the ARK-9015DT, based on Miyota caliber 9015. It lists a 42-hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 24 jewels and stated accuracy of -10 to +30 seconds per day, and recommends a check every two years. The current product page names ARK-9015DT2, so the manual’s figures should not be treated as confirmed measurements for that current caliber.
How do you set the Alterum’s second time zone?
The cited product descriptions establish the dual-time display, AM/PM indications and date subdial, but do not provide a verified setting sequence for the ARK-9015DT2. The older manual is for the ARK-9015DT, so do not assume its instructions apply unchanged to the current movement. Use the manual supplied with the exact watch or ask Arken for the correct procedure before adjusting the crown or secondary pusher.
Is the Arken Alterum still available?
Arken’s UK product listing currently shows £630, marks the watch out of stock and says the preorder window is closed. It displays Sage Grey alongside earlier colors and says black and anthracite versions will no longer be available online. A listing price is not proof that the watch can currently be ordered.
The same page gives an estimated Q4 2026–Q2 2027 delivery window for orders placed during the preorder period. That estimate applies to those existing preorder orders; it is neither a new order date nor a guaranteed delivery date. Arken’s FAQ says preorder windows are limited and any stock after fulfillment depends on the production cycle. It also characterizes delivery estimates as guidance that can vary with order timing, volume, production and shipping factors.
What strap fits the Arken Alterum?
The current product page lists a tapered nylon strap with a case-fit quick-release system. Arken’s Recoil FKM rubber strap listing says its proprietary quick-release system is designed exclusively for watches in the Instrumentum series; that does not confirm compatibility with the Alterum. The Recoil and Cover straps are also marked out of stock in Arken’s current gear listings. Confirm fit with the maker for the exact Alterum version before buying an alternative strap.
What warranty does Arken state?
Arken’s current warranty page describes five-year cover for mechanical watch movements and one-year cover for other products, including gear and accessories. The maker says the warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use and provides a separate service and repair request process. Buyers should check the terms that apply to their purchase date and region.
