Armitron’s official page provides a useful specification set for the blue Ridgemont (SKU 20/5602SLSV), but the available Metro information is only an unverified catalog reference. That evidence is enough to describe the Ridgemont; it is not enough to declare a winner or present Metro’s details as confirmed.
What is confirmed about the blue Armitron Ridgemont?
Armitron lists the blue Ridgemont as a square analog-digital watch with a navy dial, stainless-steel case and bracelet, and mineral crystal. Its official product page identifies it as SKU 20/5602SLSV and gives these dimensions and features: Armitron’s Ridgemont product page.
| Specification | Blue Ridgemont, SKU 20/5602SLSV |
|---|---|
| Display and movement | Analog/digital |
| Illumination | EL illumination |
| Calendar | Day/date |
| Crystal | Mineral |
| Case and bracelet | Stainless steel |
| Water resistance | 50 meters (165 feet) |
| Case dimensions | 42 mm long × 32.5 mm wide × 11 mm thick |
| Lug width | 18 mm |
Armitron describes the lighting this way: “It is equipped with EL technology—where the digital panel illuminates with a soft glow, ensuring easy readability in any lighting conditions.” That is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent test of readability.
What can be established about the Metro?
No official Metro product page or model-specific official manual was identified in the available material. A third-party-hosted document containing Armitron catalog text mentions a Metro with a day/date calendar and backlit LED display, alongside “42mm, Navy/Metal.” These details are a lead, not a verified specification sheet: the catalog-text document.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

- Case diameter: 53.5mm (2.1")
- Metallic black resin case and top ring
- Stainless steel case back
- Reverse LCD display (black background with light digits) with time, seconds, day and date
- Functions include: chronograph, lap time, alarm, dual time, military time and backlight
In particular, the catalog reference does not establish the Metro’s exact model identity, case dimensions, materials, water resistance, price, availability, or complete feature set. Nor does it establish that Metro shares the Ridgemont’s movement or construction. Its reported LED backlight should not be treated as equivalent to the Ridgemont’s officially specified EL illumination.
Ridgemont and Metro: what can be compared responsibly?
| Comparison point | Ridgemont | Metro |
|---|---|---|
| Evidence basis | Official blue product listing, SKU 20/5602SLSV | Third-party-hosted catalog text; no official model page identified |
| Display / illumination | Analog-digital; EL illumination | Catalog text reports a backlit LED display; not verified |
| Calendar | Day/date | Catalog text reports day/date; not verified |
| Case size | 42 mm long × 32.5 mm wide × 11 mm thick | “42mm” appears in catalog text; exact dimension and model linkage not confirmed |
| Case / bracelet material | Stainless-steel case and bracelet | Not stated in an official source |
| Lug width | 18 mm | Not stated in an official source |
| Water resistance | 50 meters (165 feet) | Not stated in an official source |
| Price and availability | Armitron’s page showed $80 and out of stock when checked for this article; both are time-sensitive | Not established |
The evidence supports a partial description of the Metro, not a like-for-like verdict. To compare the watches beyond those limited catalog clues, first confirm the precise Metro model and obtain its own official specifications for dimensions, materials, functions, illumination, and water resistance.

What official product information cannot tell you about wearing the Ridgemont
Specifications and product images can establish the listed dimensions, materials, dial color, and stated features. They do not show how the watch sits on a particular wrist, how comfortable its bracelet feels, how clearly the displays read in everyday conditions, or how well its finish holds up. No independent wear or performance testing is established here, so those qualities should not be inferred from the listing.
A Reddit post asks whether anyone has a Ridgemont photo “IRL,” illustrating the kind of real-world view a shopper may want; one post does not establish broader demand or supply a verified product inspection: the Ridgemont discussion. Official images remain useful for identifying the design, but they cannot substitute for an on-wrist view or a firsthand assessment.

Ridgemont color options, fit, and manuals
Red and blue variants
Armitron’s collection page lists red and blue Ridgemont variants. Both were marked sold out when the page was checked for this article; the blue product page showed $80 and out of stock at that time. These are page observations, not promises about current stock or price. Check the listings directly for current status: Armitron’s Ridgemont collection.
Bracelet and strap fit
The listed blue model has an 18 mm lug width and a stainless-steel bracelet. The lug-width number is a useful starting point when comparing replacement straps, but it does not by itself confirm fit: verify the exact watch, spring-bar arrangement, and strap compatibility before ordering.

- Black organic shaped case
- LED display with red digits activated by side button
- Functions include: time, seconds, date, month, year and military time
- Black link bracelet with adjustable sliding buckle closure
- Water resistant to 165 feet (50M)
Check the exact model before following a manual
A secondary manual index lists a Ridgemont manual for model 20/5453, with sections covering time and calendar setting, alarm, hourly chime, stopwatch, EL light, battery changing, and water resistance. That is a different model number from the blue product listing’s 20/5602SLSV, so the manual is not proof that every listed function or instruction applies to the blue watch. Check the caseback and match the model number before using operating or repair instructions: the indexed 20/5453 manual.
