What the Royal Oak Minute Repeater Supersonnerie is
This is a Royal Oak with a minute repeater: a mechanical complication that chimes the time on demand. “Supersonnerie” is Audemars Piguet’s name for its patented approach to the watch’s striking acoustics and construction. The titanium versions belong to a broader family that AP also lists in black ceramic and 18-carat pink gold.
How AP says Supersonnerie works
In its account of the patented construction, Audemars Piguet says the gongs are attached to a device that acts as a soundboard rather than to the movement’s mainplate. The brand explains that this arrangement prevents sound absorption and boosts amplification. AP also credits the case construction and a redesigned striking regulator.
The regulator uses a more flexible anchor system, which AP says reduces unwanted noise and gives the striking a sharper tempo. These are the manufacturer’s explanations of the design and its intended acoustic benefits; the official account does not provide independent sound measurements. Supersonnerie’s development: the RD#1 prototype
Audemars Piguet says the Royal Oak Concept Supersonnerie prototype, known as RD#1, was presented in 2015 after eight years of development with EPFL and other experts, including musicians. RD#1 is part of the technology’s development history; it is not the reference number of either titanium Royal Oak described here. AP’s RD# Saga page attributes the acoustic approach to the patented gongs, case construction, and striking regulator.

The Spanish regional .04 page describes a two-year manufacturing-defect warranty subject to the international sales warranty, and five-year coverage for AP watches purchased through its authorized network from 1 January 2017, subject to the stated terms.
