Audemars Piguet’s 2025 releases pair two distinct ideas in 38 mm cases: a Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon with one of three natural-stone dials, and perpetual calendars offered in both Code 11.59 and Royal Oak collections. They are separate watches, not one combined complication. The tourbillon is the choice for a prominent movement display and distinctive stone; the calendar models prioritize date indications and a crown-operated setting system.
What are the Audemars Piguet stone-dial tourbillons?
They are three versions of the 38 mm Code 11.59 Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon. Each pairs a different stone dial with a different gold case. The flying tourbillon is visible at six o’clock; these are not perpetual-calendar watches.
| Dial stone | Case metal | Reported stone origin |
|---|---|---|
| Ruby root | White gold | Tanzania, as reported by Time+Tide |
| Sodalite | Pink gold | Brazil, as reported by Time+Tide |
| Malachite | Yellow gold | Zambia, as reported by Time+Tide |
Time+Tide describes the dials as thin stone slices polished to bring out their veining and shifts in tone. Natural variation means the pattern on an individual watch will differ; the reported country of origin is secondary-source reporting, not a separately confirmed AP statement.
Tourbillon specifications reported at launch
Time+Tide’s 2025 release report identifies the movement as Calibre 2968 and gives a 3.4 mm movement thickness, 50-hour power reserve, 9.6 mm case thickness, and 30 m water resistance. These are report-sourced launch specifications; consult the current documentation for the specific reference before relying on them for a purchase or use decision. AP’s tourbillon collection page confirms the relevant 38 mm Code 11.59 flying-tourbillon family.

How do the 38 mm perpetual calendars differ?
The 2025 introduction covers one Code 11.59 perpetual calendar and two Royal Oak perpetual calendars. The collections use different case designs, and the reported movements and calendar displays are not interchangeable: Time+Tide identifies Calibre 7138 in the Code 11.59 and Calibre 7136 in both Royal Oak variants.
| Model group | Dial and case options reported | Movement and display | Other launch specifications reported by Time+Tide |
|---|---|---|---|
| Code 11.59 Perpetual Calendar, 38 mm | Green embossed dial; case metal not stated in the report | Calibre 7138; includes a week display | 9.9 mm case thickness; 100 m water resistance; 55-hour power reserve |
| Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar, 38 mm | Steel with light-blue dial, or pink gold with beige dial | Calibre 7136; no week display | 55-hour power reserve; case thickness and water resistance not stated in the report |
The Royal Oak’s integrated-bracelet design gives the calendar a different visual setting from the round-cased Code 11.59. AP’s catalogue lists 38 mm perpetual calendars in both families; the specific model details above come from the 2025 Time+Tide report.

How does the crown-operated calendar work?
Time+Tide reports that the calendar models replace the usual case-side correctors with four crown positions and gives a red non-correction window from 9 pm to 3 am. That describes the reported interface, not a complete setting procedure. Use the official manual for the exact calibre and reference when setting or correcting the watch; do not infer operating steps from the launch report alone.
Audemars Piguet’s general perpetual-calendar explanation describes a mechanical memory that maps 48-month cycles and says manual adjustment is unnecessary before 2100. This is a general description of the complication, not a substitute for the specific watch’s instructions.

Which one makes sense for which wearer?
- Choose the stone-dial tourbillon if the dial’s natural veining, the precious-metal pairing, and the visible flying tourbillon are the main attractions. Its display is focused on time and the tourbillon rather than a calendar.
- Choose the Code 11.59 perpetual calendar if you want a calendar complication in the Code 11.59 case and value the week indication reported for Calibre 7138.
- Choose a Royal Oak perpetual calendar if the integrated-bracelet Royal Oak design is the priority. The 2025 variants reported were steel/light blue and pink gold/beige, with Calibre 7136 and no week display.
Across the group, 38 mm is the shared case diameter, not evidence that the watches share a movement, display, or purpose. The most useful comparison is therefore complication first, then collection and material—not size alone.
