Its most distinctive architectural gesture is a spiral staircase that designer Piero Lissoni says references a watch’s mainspring.
What is AP House Milan?
AP House is Audemars Piguet’s hospitality-led retail concept: a place to explore the brand and its watches without making product display the only purpose of a visit. The company describes the Milan space as intimate and forward-looking, developed around watch discovery, brand exploration and hospitality. That is the brand’s positioning, rather than an independent assessment of the visitor experience. Audemars Piguet’s AP House Milan page presents the space in those terms.
The project occupies the former Garage Traversi, a Milan building whose past gives the setting a strong local identity. The address is 2 Via Bagutta, 20121 Milano. Rather than treating the venue as a conventional watch shop, designer Piero Lissoni describes its brief as a hybrid of home and club, with room for books, culture, food and watches. His aim, he says, was to make a place inspired by Milan and its history. Lissoni & Partners’ project description details the design and its intent.
How the design connects watchmaking and Milan
Lissoni & Partners reports that the House spans more than 1,600 m² across the building’s fifth through ninth floors. Wood, glass and metal establish a contemporary material palette, while the design also draws on the Vallée de Joux, the Swiss region where Audemars Piguet is based. The result is presented as a Milanese interpretation of the brand’s origins, rather than a literal recreation of its home region.

A staircase with a watchmaking reference
A spiral staircase connects the five floors and gives the interior a recognizable focal point. Lissoni says its form nods to a watch mainspring: a mechanical reference translated into architecture, rather than a decorative display of watch parts. The staircase also makes the vertical arrangement of the House part of the experience, linking its different uses as visitors move through the building.
A cultural venue as well as a place to discover watches
The House’s hybrid brief has extended beyond its own interiors. In June 2024, Audemars Piguet presented Shaping Materials at Portrait Milano’s Piazza del Quadrilatero. The exhibition ran from June 3 to 16, was open to all and free of charge, according to the brand’s May 22, 2024 announcement. It took place at Portrait Milano—not at AP House Milan.

A separate watch-design exhibition, Crafting Time: When Design Shapes Movement, was listed for April 21–26, 2026 as part of Milan Design Week. Fuorisalone’s event listing describes AP House as the initiative’s central venue, while giving the event location as Via Capelli 1. Those are distinct venue details; the listing should not be read as placing the 2024 exhibition at AP House or changing the address of the House itself.

The location is 2 Via Bagutta, 20121 Milano, in the former Garage Traversi. For current contact details and opening hours, check the brand’s official location page, since practical visitor information can change.
