Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date, reference 26650FO.OO.D353CA.01, pairs a blue, luminescent forged-carbon middle case with a split-seconds chronograph, flyback, GMT and large date. The defining material is the brand’s Chroma Forged Technology (CFT), which uses pigment-coloured carbon fibres rather than relying only on coloured resin. Monochrome Watches reported the model as part of AP’s permanent collection in September 2024; that historical description does not establish current stock or pricing.
What is Chroma Forged Technology?
Forged carbon differs visually and structurally from conventional woven carbon: instead of a regular fabric pattern, it uses short carbon strands arranged randomly in resin. In the CFT process described by Monochrome Watches, the carbon fibres themselves are coloured with pigments, including blue luminescent pigment, before being arranged in a mould. That distinction matters: the colour is not described as simply being added to resin surrounding otherwise uncoloured carbon.
How the reported process works
- Carbon fibres are cut into small pieces and coloured with pigments.
- The coloured pieces are placed by hand into a mould in a chosen arrangement.
- Resin is added, and the process is repeated in layers.
- The mould contents are compressed to remove air bubbles, then cured under pressure in an autoclave.
- The resulting block is machined into case components.
Monochrome describes CFT as an in-house AP development protected by a patent. The patent claim has not been independently verified here, so it should be understood as the publication’s characterization rather than a checked patent-record finding.
What does the 26650FO.OO.D353CA.01 look like?
The 43 mm case combines a middle section made with blue-pigmented CFT forged carbon and black ceramic components: the bezel, crown, caseback and push-pieces. Sandblasted titanium guards sit on either side of the case. The blue in the carbon is intended to glow, giving the material an effect beyond its daytime colour.

The openworked dial is black PVD nickel silver, with blue zones on the counters and rhodium-toned bevels. It has no logo. Monochrome reports luminous material on the hands, large date and GMT indication. A blue-and-black interchangeable rubber strap is supplied, along with an additional black-and-blue strap.
Which functions and movement does it have?
The watch brings together four complications: a split-seconds chronograph, a flyback chronograph, a GMT indication and a large date. The GMT is adjusted by a pusher integrated into the crown, according to Monochrome.

Power comes from AP’s automatic in-house calibre 4407. The publication reports a column wheel, vertical clutch and AP zero-reset mechanism. The split-seconds mechanism is integrated into the thickness of the ball bearing for the semi-peripheral rotor.

How does it compare with the titanium version?
Monochrome presents the forged-carbon model as a new material treatment of the Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date, and says its movement is unchanged from the prior titanium edition. The main distinction described is the case material and its visual effect: this reference adds coloured, luminescent forged carbon alongside black ceramic and titanium components. The publication supplies no comparable weight for the two versions, so a weight difference cannot be established from those details.
Monochrome’s 2024 article lists CHF 170,000 excluding taxes as a reference price for the prior titanium edition only. It does not give that figure as the price of the forged-carbon watch.

Release status and price
In its article published on 20 September 2024, Brice Goulard of Monochrome Watches described the 26650FO model as released as part of AP’s permanent collection and listed its price as “upon request.” Those are statements from the 2024 report: they do not confirm present availability, current retail price or availability in any particular region. No current price for the carbon reference is established by that report.
