What is the Awake 01 Titane Dare & Dream?
Awake’s Dare & Dream is a special edition of its 01 Titane watch, distinguished by a white textured dial filled with sketchbook-like alien figures and other playful motifs. French illustrator Nicolas Barrome Forgues created the artwork. The edition was limited to 50 pieces, according to launch coverage published on May 16, 2024.
The idea is less about a conventional, orderly instrument dial and more about making the watch face a miniature piece of illustrated art. Fratello’s Jorg Weppelink described it as a way to “Take a trip through the creative brain of Nicolas Barrome Forgues with this doodle-art dial.” That is Weppelink’s framing in the publication’s headline/deck, not a quote from the artist or Awake.
Dial design and legibility
The dial’s alien doodles interrupt the usual visual order of evenly spaced hour markers. Fratello notes that some markers are displaced or absent, so the playful composition can make quick, conventional time reading less straightforward. Buyers who prioritize a clean, instantly legible layout may prefer a more traditional dial; the artwork is the defining feature here, not a subtle background detail.

Monochrome Watches and Fratello report BGW9 Super-LumiNova on the artwork, hands, and indices. The luminous treatment gives parts of the illustration and time display a role after dark, but it does not change the dial’s intentionally unconventional arrangement.
Case, movement and reported specifications
The May 2024 launch reports describe a 40 mm case made from recycled Grade 2 titanium, with a screw-down crown, sapphire crystal and 100 m water resistance. Fratello additionally reports a 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 20 mm lug spacing. These are publication-reported specifications; they are not a current official confirmation from Awake.

The automatic Miyota 9039 is reported with a 42-hour power reserve. That gives the movement a familiar, practical specification set, while the watch’s most distinctive choice remains its illustrated dial and titanium construction.
Straps and launch price
Launch coverage reported a white strap and a black Zulu strap option. The publications differ on the white strap’s material: Monochrome calls it bio-based polymer, while Fratello describes it as rubber. Fratello identifies the black Zulu option as fabric, so the exact white-strap material should be treated as unconfirmed by these reports.

Is the Dare & Dream still available?
Current availability is not established by the May 2024 launch coverage. Anyone looking for the exact watch should confirm the model name and edition with Awake or the seller, and distinguish a pre-owned listing from new stock.

Who is this watch for?
The Dare & Dream is best suited to someone who wants an expressive, art-led watch and is comfortable with a dial that sacrifices some conventional order for character. The reported 40 mm titanium case and 100 m water resistance provide everyday-oriented specifications, while the unusual illustration makes it far more visually distinctive than a standard three-hand layout.
