Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteThe BALL Engineer Master II Diver Worldtime pairs a 300 m-rated dive-watch case with a 24-city world-time display, plus day and date. BALL currently lists a 42 mm DG2232A-family version, but older DG2022 references and regional suffixes have different specifications and operating details. The reference number matters when comparing versions or setting the watch.
What the Diver Worldtime does
This is a mechanical dive watch with an additional world-time indication: a city ring works with a 24-hour display to show time across geographic zones. The dial also provides day and date, while a unidirectional bezel supplies a separate elapsed-time scale for diving or other timing tasks. BALL describes its worldtimer models as combining day and date with 24 geographic zones.
The world-time complication is useful for tracking another time zone or scanning the time around the world, but it also makes the dial busier than a conventional diver. If you mainly want a simple elapsed-time watch, the city ring may add visual and operational complexity without much benefit.

How the world-time display works—and what to verify
The city ring identifies geographic zones, and the 24-hour display distinguishes daytime from nighttime in the indicated zone. BALL’s collection description says its worldtimer models combine day and date with 24 different geographic zones. The exact adjustment sequence depends on the reference, however.

The official manual’s world-time instructions describe the earlier DG2022 and say its city disc is adjusted using the crown at 2 o’clock. Those instructions are specific to DG2022; do not assume that crown position or procedure applies to a DG2232A. Before changing the city disc or setting the second time zone, use the manual that matches the watch’s exact reference. BALL’s manual and product resources are available through its official product page.

“Diver Worldtime” covers more than one reference and configuration, so compare the full reference rather than relying on the family name alone.

| Reference or listing | What the source establishes |
|---|---|
| DG2232A-PC-GR | Current international listing: 42 mm case, green dial, rubber strap and pin buckle; approximately 130 g; BALL lists the movement and other specifications above. |
| DG2232A steel-bracelet variant | BALL product information gives a 20 mm lug width and approximately 160 g. Confirm the exact suffix and the rest of the specification on the listing for the watch being considered. |
| DG2232A-SCJ-BE | Official Japanese blue-dial bracelet listing. It showed ¥550,000 including tax and was marked out of stock on that page; this is a market- and page-specific snapshot, not a current universal price. |
| DG2022A-PAJ-WH | A 2010 Japanese report describes a 45 mm model on a rubber strap, rated to 300 m, with a then-announced price of ¥222,600. These are historical launch details, not current pricing or a direct specification match for DG2232A. |
For current configurations, BALL’s international DG2232A listing and Japanese DG2232A-SCJ-BE listing illustrate how suffixes, strap or bracelet, dial and market affect what is offered. The collection page has also surfaced different US-dollar prices across configurations; none should be treated as a stable family-wide price. A 2022 secondary overview discusses black and blue versions and the 42 mm case, but manufacturer listings are the better reference for current specifications: aBlogtoWatch’s overview.
How to compare one before buying
- Match the full reference. Check the generation and suffix on the listing, warranty documents or watch itself; DG2022 instructions and dimensions should not be transferred to a DG2232A by assumption.
- Check fit using more than diameter. For the cited 42 mm version, BALL lists 14.4 mm thickness and 48 mm lug-to-lug. Those dimensions can matter as much as diameter on a smaller wrist or beneath a cuff.
- Choose the supplied attachment deliberately. The green DG2232A-PC-GR listing has a rubber strap and pin buckle, while a bracelet variant is listed separately. The cited current case has 20 mm lugs, which is a useful starting point when searching for a strap, not proof that every 20 mm strap will fit or clear the case.
- Decide whether the world-time display earns its space. It suits someone who regularly tracks several zones; someone who only needs local time and dive timing may prefer a simpler dial.
- Confirm the exact market price and stock. BALL’s pages have shown different prices and availability for distinct references and regions. Check the seller’s current listing and confirm the included bracelet or strap before purchase.
What the 300 m rating does—and does not—tell you
BALL specifies 300 m / 1,000 ft water resistance for the cited DG2232A-PC-GR. That is the manufacturer’s rating for the listed configuration; it is not an independent pressure test, and the rating alone does not establish suitability for every diving use. Follow the watch’s manual for crown operation and care, and ensure the watch is properly maintained before exposing it to water.

Strap sizing and compatibility
BALL specifies a 20 mm lug width for the cited 42 mm configuration, and its separate steel-bracelet listing also gives 20 mm. A 20 mm strap is therefore a sensible search size for those references. Lug width alone does not establish compatibility across every Diver Worldtime reference: confirm the exact model, spring-bar or attachment arrangement, and clearance between strap and case before ordering.
