The Baltic HMS 002 Salmon and the Stitched Saffiano black strap are associated with two different Baltic references. Baltic’s archive describes the HMS 002 Salmon collaboration as having an embossed black leather strap with blue stitching; the current Saffiano strap selector appears on Baltic’s HMS 003 Salmon page. The HMS 002 has a documented 20 mm lug width, so a 20 mm replacement is the starting point—but the available information does not establish that the Saffiano strap was the HMS 002’s original strap.
Are the HMS 002 Salmon and HMS 003 Salmon the same watch?
No. Baltic identifies the HMS 002 Salmon as a limited collaboration with Worn & Wound, while its current product page presents a separate model reference, the HMS 003 Salmon. Baltic lists “Stitched Saffiano black” as a strap option on the HMS 003 page, not as the original HMS 002 Salmon strap.
The model distinction matters when shopping: a strap option shown on the HMS 003 page is not evidence that the same strap shipped with the HMS 002 collaboration. See Baltic’s HMS 003 Salmon page and 2020 collaboration archive.
What strap came with the HMS 002 Salmon collaboration?
Baltic describes the collaboration’s original strap as specially embossed black leather with blue stitching. That is the documented description for the HMS 002 Salmon collaboration; the sources do not identify it as Saffiano leather.

Baltic’s archive says the collaboration was sold in 200 pieces in March 2020, and states that each model—the HMS 002 and the Bicompax—was limited to 100 pieces. Those are release-era edition statements, not confirmation of current stock or resale availability.
What size strap fits the HMS 002?
Baltic specifies a 20 mm lug width for the HMS 002 and says its straps are compatible with the watch. A 20 mm strap is therefore the documented width to search for. Before buying, confirm that the particular strap’s attachment and construction suit your watch; lug width alone does not establish every fit detail. Baltic’s HMS 002 specifications page gives the lug width and compatibility statement.

What to check when choosing a replacement
If you want to recreate the HMS 002 collaboration’s documented look, look for black leather with blue stitching and an embossed finish. If you prefer the current Saffiano style, treat it as a separate style choice rather than assuming it is historically original to the HMS 002.
- Width: Start with the HMS 002’s stated 20 mm lug width.
- Attachment: Verify compatibility with the specific watch and strap before purchase.
- Material and finish: The collaboration archive says embossed black leather; Baltic’s HMS 003 page names a Stitched Saffiano black option.
- Appearance: Blue stitching is part of Baltic’s archived description of the collaboration strap; select contrast stitching or a plainer finish according to the look you want.
The cited Baltic pages do not provide a controlled comparison of comfort, durability, or water resistance among strap options, so those qualities should not be inferred from the names or appearance alone.

HMS 002 specifications and design
Baltic’s HMS 002 specification page lists a 316L stainless-steel case measuring 38 mm in diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug, and 13 mm thick (10 mm without the glass). It specifies a 20 mm lug width, high-domed Hesalite glass, a Miyota 8315 automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve, and water resistance of 50 m (5 ATM). The page also lists Italian calf-leather and steel bracelet options.
Baltic describes the HMS 002 as a vintage-inspired three-hand dress watch, with a 1940s-inspired step case and an Art Deco-influenced sector dial. Its maker-described case finishing combines horizontal brushing on the case middle, circular brushing on the lugs, and a polished bezel. Is the HMS 002 Salmon or its original strap currently available?
The cited Baltic archive documents the limited collaboration’s March 2020 release, but it does not establish present-day availability. The current HMS 003 page confirms the Saffiano strap option for that reference; it does not show that the original HMS 002 Salmon strap or watch is currently for sale. Check the seller’s listing and confirm the model reference and strap details before treating a listing as an HMS 002 Salmon with its original strap.
