The Baltic Prismic pairs a layered, Art Deco-inspired dial with a mixed steel-and-titanium case, compact dimensions and a hand-wound ETA movement. Here are the specs, trade-offs and launch-price context.

The Baltic Prismic is a 36 mm hand-wound dress watch built around an unusually layered dial and a mixed stainless-steel-and-titanium case. Its compact dimensions and distinctive finish give it a clear point of view; its 30 m water-resistance rating and the dial’s visual density are worth weighing before you choose one. The launch was in February 2024, so “brand-new” describes its original introduction, not its age today.

What makes the Baltic Prismic distinctive?

Baltic says the Prismic takes inspiration from “geometric shapes and luminous refractions of the prism.” The result is a modern dress watch whose dial and case depend on layers, textures and contrasting finishes rather than a plain, minimal layout. Hodinkee’s Mark Kauzlarich called it “one of their most avant-garde releases” in his February 15, 2024 review (Hodinkee).

A mixed-metal case with contrasting finishes

The case combines a 316L stainless-steel bezel, lugs and caseback with a central Grade 5 titanium structure. Baltic describes the titanium as grain-finished, while the steel parts use polished, brushed and circular-brushed surfaces. The construction makes the case more visually involved than a single-material shell, though the manufacturer’s specifications do not state the weight.

A deliberately busy dial

The dial pairs guilloché with a brushed sector, applied polished indices and a grained small-seconds subdial at six o’clock, framed by a brushed steel ring. Dauphine hands have brushed upper surfaces and polished chamfers. Time+Tide also describes the layered look as Art Deco-inspired (Time+Tide).

How does the Prismic wear on paper?

Baltic lists a 36 mm diameter, 44 mm lug-to-lug span and 9.2 mm overall thickness. The 20 mm lug width gives you a standard measurement to check when choosing a compatible strap. These figures suggest a relatively compact profile, but wrist fit also depends on wrist shape and how the strap or bracelet articulates.

Specification Baltic’s listed detail
Case diameter 36 mm
Lug-to-lug 44 mm
Thickness 9.2 mm overall; 7.4 mm without crystal
Lug width 20 mm
Crystal Double-domed sapphire with internal anti-reflective coating
Case materials 316L stainless steel and Grade 5 titanium
Water resistance 30 m (3 ATM)
Functions Hours, minutes and small seconds

The 30 m (3 ATM) figure is Baltic’s stated water-resistance rating. The product information cited here does not specify permitted activities, so it should not be treated as a promise that swimming or immersion is suitable.

What movement does it use?

The Prismic uses a manually wound ETA Peseux 7001 with a stated 42-hour power reserve. It is a mechanical movement, so it needs winding by hand rather than relying on wrist motion. The exhibition caseback reveals the movement and its listed decoration: diamond-polished bevels, Côtes de Genève on the bridges, soleillage on the ratchet and crown wheels, blued screws, and beading on the main plate balance wheel. Time+Tide also reports the hand-wound caliber and 42-hour reserve.

Leather strap or steel mesh bracelet?

Baltic lists the Prismic with an Italian calf-leather strap or a steel mesh bracelet. Strap preference is personal, and one reviewer’s experience is not a universal fit result: Fratello’s Thomas Van Straaten preferred the leather, reporting that the mesh felt broad-shouldered and did not drape as well on his wrist (Fratello).

Baltic says its sold straps are compatible with the watch except for its Beads of Rice and Flat Link bracelets. Check the specific strap and fitting before buying an accessory; the 20 mm lug width alone does not establish that every bracelet will fit correctly.

What did reviewers think of the design?

Kauzlarich described the dial as bold and expected it to divide opinion. He found some colors more successful for his taste than others and noted that the layered detailing can feel like a lot at close inspection. That is a useful way to frame the Prismic: it is a design-led choice, not a watch aimed at readers seeking an especially restrained dial.

In a comparison with Seiko Presage Cocktail Time, Time+Tide’s Jamie Weiss said the Seiko watches cost less, while the Prismic offers sapphire crystals at the front and back, a more distinctive Art Deco aesthetic, mixed-metal construction and a Swiss movement. This is Weiss’s comparison, not a definitive ranking; the more relevant choice depends on which design and features matter to you.

What was the launch price, and what does it cost now?

At launch in February 2024, Hodinkee and Time+Tide reported prices of €990 excluding VAT on leather and €1,050 excluding VAT on mesh. Those are historical launch prices, not a current price quote. Hodinkee reported a preorder window of February 15–25, 2024, with initial deliveries expected in July and later orders in October 2024 or after. Those delivery dates are also historical.

Baltic’s product page currently shows an add-to-cart control, but the reviewed information does not establish a current price, stock status or delivery timing for your region. Check the live product page and checkout before ordering. The page lists a 24-month warranty, free exchanges and returns, and free shipping from €80; it does not establish the detailed conditions for those offers, so verify the terms that apply to your location at checkout.

Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
