The Baltic Scalegraph Transat Café L’Or is a 200-piece, numbered sailing-themed chronograph made for the 17th Transat Café L’Or. Its distinctive features are a bezel graduated in knots for estimating a boat’s average speed and a reverse-graduated 15-minute sub-counter Baltic describes as a regatta-start timer. Baltic says the October 2025 edition will not be reproduced; that does not rule out remaining retailer stock or resale listings.
What makes this Scalegraph a regatta edition?
Baltic describes the watch as a tie-in to its role as official timekeeper of the 17th Transat Café L’Or. The company says the double-handed offshore race runs between Europe and America; its product page gave a scheduled start of October 26, 2025, from Le Havre toward Martinique, with 74 crews. Baltic also says it supported a Class40 team led by skipper Lomano Takasi. These are details from the maker’s event page, not an independent account of race results. Baltic’s product and archive page identifies the edition as 200 numbered pieces sold in October 2025 and says it will not be reproduced.
How do the sailing-specific displays work?
Knots bezel
The aluminum bezel is graduated in knots over one tenth of a nautical mile. Baltic says the scale is intended to calculate a sailing boat’s average speed. This is the manufacturer’s stated function; the available product information does not independently assess its practical accuracy or usability at sea.
Reverse-graduated 15-minute sub-counter
The blue Big Eye sub-counter is reverse-graduated over 15 minutes, which Baltic describes as a regatta-start timer. Time+Tide’s 2025 editorial describes the display as divided into three five-minute segments for the countdown periods before a race start. That segmentation is the publication’s description; Baltic’s confirmed core specification is the 15-minute countdown display.

Its listed functions include chronograph operation and stop seconds. Time+Tide also lists a date display.

Is it still available, and what does it cost?
Baltic’s statement that the limited edition will not be reproduced describes the production run; it does not establish that every retailer has sold out. Availability and displayed prices vary by listing and can change.
| Listing | Price and status shown | What that establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Time+Tide US shop listing, reference SCA12YAOR11 | $1,995 USD; marked out of stock on the listing surfaced October 7, 2026 | A dated status for that US listing, not global stock or resale availability. Check the Time+Tide listing. |
| Time+Tide editorial, December 26, 2025 | €1,750; the article said the shop had obtained the last few examples | A historical price and availability statement, not a current quote. Read the dated editorial. |
| Separate Australian shop result | A$3,350 displayed | A regional listing price; the available information does not establish its current stock status. |

What should a buyer weigh?
- Fit: Use the 39.5 mm diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 14.1 mm overall thickness to assess proportions against a watch you already wear. Dimensions alone cannot establish comfort on your wrist.
- Winding preference: The listed Sellita SW511 BH a is manual-wind. Baltic specifies a 63-hour power reserve.
- Water resistance: Baltic lists 100 m (10 ATM). This is a manufacturer rating, not an independent test or a guarantee for a particular activity.
- Regatta functions: The knots bezel and 15-minute countdown are central to the edition’s sailing theme. Consider whether you would use those displays or mainly want the event design.
- Collectibility: The maker identifies a numbered production run of 200 and says it will not be reproduced. That does not predict future resale value.
No directly comparable watch or independent value assessment is established here, so a claim that this is the “best” or a bargain would be unsupported. For a comparison, check case dimensions, movement and reserve, water-resistance rating, sailing timer, materials, production quantity, regional price and verifiable availability.

Baltic’s user guide recommends wiping the watch with a soft, dry cloth and rinsing waterproof models with clean water after exposure to salt or chlorinated water. The guide says rubber and leather straps, along with several bracelet types, have quick-release mechanisms; the straight Beads of Rice bracelet requires a spring-bar tool. The 20 mm lug width alone does not verify compatibility for any particular replacement strap.
